C'mon, tiger, you're kidding. I know that's on the draft caps, but that's nothing new. I thought we'd already used versions of that. Besides, that's the same "R" we've always had. CLFranchise went inside the damn downtown arena looking for it and it wasn't in there either. I think Tim is just fibbin around.
You know when you've got to take a piss, but you opt to hold it in until a toilet is available... The closer you get to the toilet, the more you feel you have to go. I guess its the anticipation and knowing that you'll be relieving yourself in a few seconds... This whole uniform fiasco is starting to feel like that.
You know I was driving around town all day today, especially downtown - and I was keeping an eye out for any possible new Rockets logo - NOTHING!!! Than an interesting thought crossed my mind, what is the marketing strategy behind releasing it this way over a more traditional ceremony? For some reason I am just not getting the benefit here........ Maybe that is why the Rocket's marketing/sales staff won't hire me!
So after 4 hours of driving all over Houston, I have come home with no logo, but some interesting information... 1) Badiane WAS wearing the cap with our new logo on it. So if anyone can find another view of the picture, you'll see our new logo. 2) The jerseys will have a look of our old championship jerseys. I'm guessing that means the same plain font, or maybe he meant the red, and instead of the yellow, having platinum. Places I went today...1) Oshman's, 2) Baybrook Mall, 3) Downtown Arena and Sales Center, 4) Academy by The Summit, and 5) The Galleria. Checked out every store that would possibly have the new logo on a hat or shirt in both Baybrook and the Galleria. Found nothing. I can't mention where I got the two points from above, but I got it today while I was out searching.
i believe that is our new cap and logo but we need a btter view. If you remember the day after the draft Tim said he recieved his hat that day with the new logos and colors
So do you think that Badiane still has that hat? Maybe somebody can go interview him for the site and get a pic of him in that hat...
Damn it was just a joke. You guys are so gullible! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you honestly expect the Rockets to pull a "Denver Nuggets" and go all UCLA on us. Trust me, The Logo looks way hella cool than that piece of crap I posted.
The font on the practice jersey Badiane was wearing is just a standard Reebok practice jersey font. They use the same font for the practice gear for every team. They used it last season, and they'll use it this season, too. (Personally I'd prefer that they use our team font ... but Reebok gets to make that call according to the deal they made with the league.) It always throws people off a bit because it is close to the font used in the ketchup and mustard days. But that's just coincidental; they didn't do it on purpose. It's not any indicator of new logo or uniform design. As for video games -- we've been assured that EA, Sega, etc. will have the new uniforms and arena. They had to sign a non-disclosure agreement promising not to release it before we debuted it, though. Actually, lots of vendors around Houston have seen the logo -- we have to get things produced for the new arena. We just made them all sign non-disclosure agreements as well, though. They won't be leaking it. Tim
I seriously doubt anyone viewing the camera would be able to clearly make out the Rockets new logo. You might want to checkout Houstonarena2003.com's construction pic page. That thing is regularly updated and would probably be your best chance of catching a glimpse of it unless say your lucky enough to be like ..........................HeyPartner or Jeff and tour the construction site. But even then, I have heard that they only take those lucky ones to places they want them to see and whisk them quickly away from other parts of the building like they might not want anyone to see yet, like there the Gustapo hiding a deep, dark secret. But pretty soon, even the most deep dark secrets eventually come to light.
check out the tiny logo on the right facade of the building... i doubt it's anything but it doesn't look familiar to me. hmm maybe the swirly grassy thing may mean something. heheh this is fun
