I guess I'll go with what seems to be the minority so far and say I like the Reebok street cut the best. In fact, the Sixers' jersey is one of my favorite NBA jerseys. I like the cut around the neck and shoulders, the fact that there is more cloth covering the shoulders. And the thing I don't like about the Nike is the cut around the neck....when I was watching the Lakers and (whoever else wears em) in the playoffs, I noticed that the collar looked worn on all the players...that kidna annoyed me. As for shiny or not..doesn't really matter, like 'em both.

Why you tellin' me this? My name is not TIM.

BTW, there is a reason why I posted this other jersey cut Reebok makes. Because the Rockets might choose this one. It is commonly known as "regular" or "traditional" cut. You might recognize it., too. It was the jersey cut style used on the PJ's. I have no idea which one they are going with but these two jersey "cuts" I have talked about (street and one below in pic) will more than likely be what you will see for the final product.

RE: Malick Badiane's Draft hat ... it was definitely red, I remember seeing it when he got up on the stage even though he was the only player the ESPN guys didn't talk about!!!
But, it wasn't a dark red at all. It was a bright, regular red like our old colors. Definitely not the blood red we're starting to expect.

I believe that draft hat was just red one with the soon-to-be old secodary logo. I recall seeing one of those, too. I think the Rockets just had Malick Badine sport it to cause a "Buzz" amongst the fans. Remeber, they watch and post on this board too. So they know we are paying close attention to there every move when it comes to the new logo/uni's.

Well they succeded and created quite a "buzz" amongst the fans on this board.

I think the Rockets just want to save money.

Bumping this back to the top since once it goes off the first page, there'll be 14 new threads created simulatneously.

I spoke to Charlie Palilo of Sports Radio 610 about the topic. His response was this... "They submitted their ideas to the league and were turned down. So I really can't say when they will be released. It's been a messed up process."
Boy, that doesn't sound good. They better not screw this up! I haven't worn much Rockets gear since they changed it to the PJ's.

Charlie taking a negative spin towards the Rockets?!?!? What a shock!!! :D

Guys, I think we may be obsessing a little too much on these uniforms. Per Tim, we will see them soon enough and all the speculating will be over.

    Relax. :)

I'm not sure if this info has been posted here before so rather then start a new thread (which would piss off most here) I'll just put the info up here and apologize in advance if someone else has already posted any of this info.

    new jersey and logo info

They hired Eiko Ishioka (female fashion designer who designed the outfits in that J Lo movie, The Cell) and she came up with 6 designs that the players all loved and it took a while to settle on one.

The NBA wasn't really feeling the ones they finally chose, so the Rockets were making some minor changes to get them approved, they're supposedly pretty sweet.

The colors will be a dark red and silver (platinum) and the new logo should pop up by mid to late July. The uniforms should be released in September (hopefully sooner).

I got this info from another message board I post at.

i'll tell you something, call me crazy, but WINNING CURES ALL AILS.

Had the Rockets have won 2 NBA Titles with the PJ's you would still see many, many fans wearing the gear with pride...

Not saying a good amount wouldn't still consider them ugly, but they would not complain (too busy raving about winning). for example, i thought they were ugly and cartoonish, but I still had a cap and a few shirts. My son (7) actually liked the old logo...

as far as people going overboard on the new uni's... it's the offseason, what else are we going to talk about?

The Power Dancers? [cue excessive picture postings of hot power dancers]

Eiko Ishioka designed those suits. Here is a quote and source. Now you may ask, what does this have to do with Rockets uni's? Nothing other than it is a glimpse of her previous work on a sports themed uniform. Not exactly basketball uni's, but you can see her eye here, and how she may be looking at the uniform.

Well, by looking at these designs from Eiko, I guess it's safe to assume that the Rockets' uni will be red...
