I saw Phone Booth on Saturday night, but I hadn't had a chance to post about it yet. Personally, I enjoyed the movie, though Collin was good and Kiefer was good. And I'm always amazed with how much Forrest Whitaker can say with a single glance. To me, the movie was nothing spectacular (and I think the "didn't sleep with Katie Holmes" bit was probably added by studio execs who didn't want the "hero" to have done something all that bad, which would erode his heroic qualities, but that's just a theory). It's not a movie that will find a place on my list of favorites, but I think it was worth my time. (And, since the flick was not playing at any Cinemark, I went to a UA where I got to see that 20 minutes of ads/content thing they've been hyping called the "Twenty" for the first time. I wasn't impressed).
I agree with Free Agent. Comparing the main character to a child pornographer made the entire premise laughable. I liked the style of the flick and Ferrell was great, though.
I don't know if I will see this movie, but I think Colin Farrell is a pretty damn good actor. Anybody ever seen "Tigerland"? Cool flick.
also directed by Joel Schumacher. In fact , this was the movie that put Colin on the map. Schumacher is loyal to his actors, so Colin can thank him for blowing him up so to speak. also, regarding Schumacher, how can anyone diss THE LOST BOYS? Falling Down wasn't bad either. okay, i admit it, he butchered the Batman franchise, and 8mm and FLawless were weak. imdb says he is set to direct "On The ROad" based on Kerouac's classic. I don't know about that....
It was a great movie... and if you have questions like "couldn't they just turn off the service" they cover things like that in the movie. It's a very intense movie where you are always on your toes, and when it's over you can't believe that it had already been 90 minutes.
Of course, I didn't stay for the credits, so there's the other six minutes. I make it a habit to look at my watch when a movie starts and when I walk out.
