When i was in university, I tried to get a prescription from my doctor. I said all the right things and he was willing to right me the prescription. He felt obligated to tell me that it has long term mental side effects that are permanent. I asked what they are and he said many things. One of them was tics and uncontrollable spasms like your arm will randomly shoot up sideways. I'm guessing that is if you take it a lot for a long period. I asked him how do people continue to take it without upping the dose and he said they dont. I was thinking about taking it in college only, but needless to say i did not have him write me a prescription.
I've been taking addy for about 7 years now. started my senior year in highschool. it doesn't kill your brain cells. what I've come to learn after many years of taking this crap is that really it's all up to you. I can take a bunch of it, and still not really do anything. It's really up to you. Maybe you haven't gone through your post-highschool quasi-acute-depression state where you just lose exactly what you're talking about; creativity and moreless, self motivation. If you want something bad enough, you'll do it. Unfortunately 80% society will ultimately not want it enough. I'm 26, and I'm not getting any younger..wbu you bro?
I never took Adderall or anything related while in college or getting my masters. In fact I just started drinking coffee and energy drinks about 2 years ago. Working 80-90 hour weeks has taken a toll on me. Lately I've been down, not interested in work or studying or going to the gym or even getting out of bed. I went to my family doctor and she told me to try an antidepressant. That didn't do a damn thing for me. I went to another doctor and he told me to try Vyvanse. Let me tell you this drug is amazing! I can sit all day and work for 12 hours straight without getting distracted. I didn't sleep or eat for the first few days, but now I have an appetite and feel well rested when I wake up. I haven't experienced any other side effects. I also lost about 23 pounds in two weeks without much exercise. My blood pressure is normal and I don't feel like my heart is about to explode. I look forward to each day and notice I'm just more interested in general. I'm not convinced I have ADD, but this drug has changed my life for the better. I may only take it for a few more months and will ease off it eventually, but I'm really enjoying the present. I'm not trying to tell a cool story, rather, trying to give insight for someone who may be in a similar situation. Also, it stays in your system for about three days. I'm not sure about Adderall, but I'm surprised Tejada got banned 100+ games for this substance.
My opinion is find a natural solution to your problems. Most of the people who take Alderall at my college are lazy or procrastinate (poorly). They use Alderall because they've got themselves thinking that their problems aren't their fault. If you're having problems focusing, change your environment, not your body. My 2cents.
I took adderall once and I definitely would not recommend taking it on a daily basis. Yes, it makes you feel focused and awesome, but it can also become highly addictive. After a while, a normal dose will no longer pack the same punch as it used to. And by then, you will already be mildly addicted and feel that you need the drug to maintain the same level of productivity. As you continue to increase dosage, the normally harmless effects of adderall will become serious. There are plenty of ways you could find a solution to your problem. Adderall shouldn't be one of them.
Pretty much same experience here. Vyvanse is a wonder drug. I've been off it for a couple years but about to get back on.
