He will be 28 next season and has been playing pro since he was 16. If he was going to come over, he would have been here by now.

Luis Scola came in at about the same age.

And Prigoni when he was 35. If you're good I would think you want to play against the best to see how good you really are.

Lull is a guard, Scola was a PF (and one that didn't rely on speed or athleticism).

He was purely a spot up shooter in the World Cup and not impressed at all.

I like Llull but in the NBA he's almost surely a bench player. I actually liken him to Patrick Beverley a little bit. Really good pesky defensive player. Runs the court great. Can spot up a little. Great, great competitor, and easy to root for.

However, if the big complaint is for a second creator from the PG spot, I don't know that Llull really brings much to that role.

But yes, Llull would be a solid player for this team, and would fit in well next to Harden when Harden is on his game. When the Rockets are struggling to have someone else create offense, I don't really see him adding much of a solution to that problem.

Llullz is never coming and I don't want him. He doesn't want to come to the NBA and so I guess he's too scared of actual competition. We should stop obsessing over someone who's scared to play in the big leagues and focus on real PGs that are actually in the NBA.

I've been hearing about him since forever & wondered about his age. Thanks for the info. Count me in the "he'll never wear a Rocket's jersey" camp. If he "doesn't want to go into the forest", I can understand that & we wouldn't want him anyway. If he's content being a rich local hero, I respect that. If he gets traded, so be it. I just think we'll never see him here.

However, if he does become a Rocket, I'll be estatic & "WTF took you so long" him to death!

I'm also in the "Llull will never play in the NBA" group...he appears happy being where he is currently. We NEED a playmaking PG that WANTS to be in a Rocket's uniform.

If Llull comes over... "IF"... I'll be happy to give him a shot but he won't have the leverage in negotiations he could have had 4 years ago. So... he's going to have to come down off his "high horse".

Also, whoever plays next to Harden has to have similar skills and be good at it. I have my doubts if LLull is the guy....

My #1 option is to clone James Harden. That's the best solution. You can't go wrong with an all beard back court!

They are vine videos... just a couple of highlights of Llull's today -- a fast break slam and a banked-in buzzer beater from about 28-30 feet.

That was two dribbles to get up the entire court and dunk the ball.

He hits a lot of buzzer beater game winners but on the flip side I seem to recall a game where he went something like 0-13 from 3pt land even though he did manage to make the match winning shot?
