I wasn't comparing anything. Using the US team and Kevin Love as an example was obviously a hyperbole. I only noted it was silly to say that Llull isn't any good because he was the 12 man on the Spanish team last summer (which FWIW isn't even accurate - Llull was Spain's 7th man and only played slightly less minutes than Rubio). Spain is a the 2nd best team in the world. Obviously aren't close to the US, but it's not like it's some scrub country either.
No PG - Is Llull a possibility? I have not heard any discussions since we let our starting pgs go about Sergio Llull being bought out and brought over. I understand the buyout is much larger this year (unsure how much) but given that they do not have a point guard and they have a young team, is this even an option or do they have to wait until next year to make a move? Just curious if someone could enlighten me. Thanks!
His offensive play would translate well, but his defense would pretty much doom whatever team he was on. As good as he is, he can't outscore an entire team and any decent Euro team would destroy an opponent with a big that doesn't contest shots or hedges out on picks. Best player talent-wise, individually? Sure. He probably never would win anything unless he adjusted his game a lot though.
He would, euro teams uses team defense a lot more than Nba, they hide there players who cant defend pretty well inside it. Dmo defense in europe wasnt a problem, but in NBA it was. There were/are plenty of players in europe, who cant defend, yet they won bunch of stuff. With the offensive game that Love have team that have him, would only need players who know how to defend. At high level games in euroleague, games slow down to crawl pace. Love would dominate in it.

Llull would take Lin's spot in the lineup and be a much needed upgrade. I feel like we are missing only four things: 1) bruiser with toughness and elite D 2) three point specialist 3) versatile defender of the 2-3 positron 4) veteran pg
My Spanish sucks but what I got from it was the same old story. He is not impressed and doesn't seem likely to come over.
So, uhh, can we guarantee Sergio a starting spot and bring him over, like the Nuggets are doing with Joffrey Lauvergne? He is killing it in Europe. Crazy shooting percentages...
Don't think this fellow is ever coming here. More and likely will used in a trade somewhere down the line.
I still can't forget that retweet by Morey a few years ago. A scout or writer tweeted something to the affect of "I can't imagine a better fit with Harden than Sergio Llull." I believe he is our long term solution at PG. We should consider trading the DEN 2nd for someone like Mo Williams to hold us over until Llull signs for the full MLE next year.
I'll be more than happy to eat humble pie if dude turns out to be a stud but does anybody else think that Llull doesnt look like an effective NBA pg? Every time I watch his videos, all I see is a slightly better Steve Blake.
I believe that your observation is correct. It's too bad we can't use his contract in a trade, because he doesn't want to come to the NBA. Ditto for Gentile.
