This is how most sensible are, thus abortion will never be popular or "hip" or anything like that. It's a disgusting procedure no doubt, and I'm not sure if I would even have a significant other go through with it if put in the situation. This is why parents are best qualified to make the decision, because we care for our offspring. Women who truly feel they can't handle motherhood, should be taken seriously. It would never be an easy decision for anyone.
Harsh? I came out of it okay as have many, many others. I assure you that I was the "normal" guy that you describe... I'm of the particular belief, as are many, many others, that monogamy is not natural for men yet I have not strayed on my wife. Should I? ...just becauseit is hard? Just because it is hard does not make it NOT worth doing. Just the opposite in fact; living in a modern society puts many requirements upon is to give up impulsive living
Then are you for lawlessness? I think not. What's wrong with making a stand for someone? If someone breaks into your house and steals your big screen TV, what's it to me? Nothing. So should we just make laws that make that kind of action tolerable? It's about "right" not "superiority."
As long as you make arguments like that, you will appear to be a nut job and will have no earnest debate.
It's a serious question. Should we care less about unique unborn children than mass-produced televisions? We have laws that comprehensively protect the latter but not the former.
Someone else stealing your tv is someone else commiting a crime against you. Abortion is like stealing your own tv...or in this case getting a procedure on your own body. It's a victimless crime..unless you're stuck on a mass of cells no different than us humans who went full term, then this argument is irresolvable
No,but maybe you aren't even doing that! I'm wondering aloud why you think it right and proper to have laws protecting simple property (like TVs) but think one has succumbed to egoistic moralism to want to protect unborn children.
We protect easily replaceable, mass-produced TVs but not uniquely created children in utero. Yeah, I'm stuck on those victims....
