    and the team doesn't win its first without him.

    and if they won despite him quitting on them, why is one of the worst memories. that makes no sense. obviously you don't like him.

    That 1st Championship team with Vernon proved people of many cultures and personalities can get together.
    People from Nigeria, Venezuela. Both countries now full of conflict.
    People with drinking problems.
    The story of Robert Horry, who didnt have confidence in himself, then became the greatest clutch player in history.
    Sam Cassell a rookie who thought he was the best player in the world.
    A quiet workman, Otis Thorpe.
    A guy who lives the fast life, Vernon.
    Kenny, a new york playground legend.
    Matt bullard, a Woodlands Icon.

    People in this horrible world today need to seriously look at this team and learn from them.

    ... and you make no sense. They won, so there can be no bad memories? Sorry, Max's quitting and choking on the team is the worst memory of those championship teams. So as long as the team won, Max is a cool guy and to be liked? Give me a break.

    And obviously I don't like him? Durr. I don't know him, so I can't hate him as a person. But I hated how he choked on the team, and for that I hate him as a player.

    Yeah, got along great with teammates : like getting into fights with Gary Payton and threatening to kill him, trying to strangle Albert King, being accused of bashing a beer bottle over another teammate's head (can't remember the player)... with a teammate like that, I'd carry a gun for protection.

    Ever see plumes of smoke coming out of the car wash? He said "what's up?" Wow, I'm impressed. But then maybe you were thinking he would come after you with a crowbar... now that'd be about par.

    I'm sick of this goon getting glory after CHOKING on the team - a team that otherwise was a pretty class act.

    Choking is not performing in crunch time.

    Maxwell never choked.

    but why does it matter to you if the team won. I could see if they lost. and my point about you not liking him is that if you don't like him, why does it matter that he quit on your team. wouldn't you want a player you don't like to be off your team? you're hating just to be hating.

    gary payton hasn't proven himself to be the greatest teamate over time, witness his fights during the game with wade or his year with the lakers complaining about playing time. try again.

    even though max quit on the team his TEAMATES still decided to give him a ring. try again.

    what was he supposed to do? the guy was down to earth, that was the point. I'm sorry he didn't offer to take me out to dinner. then I would have truly been worried.

    there's a reason he's getting glory. he still is great guy and still loves his teammates except for Drexler.

    Drexler didn't get along with Barkley. Drexler damaged our ears this year.
    Why is he such a Rocket's hero? One great playoff performance for the Rockets?
    He's a TRAILBLAZER for over 10 years. Maxwell was a Rocket pretty much his entire career.

    Why do you have such hatred in your heart? Why did Max call Sam? Why is he getting GLORY??

    We won the war, we still had a Benedict Arnold.
    Jesus rose again, we still talk about Judas.
    The Rockets won a championship, Vernon Maxwell was an idiot during that run and choked on the team.

    Quit loving him so much and maybe your defense would actually make sense. The fact is he choked on the team. He sucks.

    Don't need to as you just took the bait. So Gary Payton should be dismissed as being "not the greatest teammate over time" because of his fights and whining about playing time, yet you can easily dismiss Maxwell's breaking beer bottles over people's heads, trying to strangle a teammate, and then summarily quitting on his team. That's really interesting!

    Oh quit with the 3rd grade "try again" comebacks and actually try to sort your hypocrisy out before you engage.

    you cant change that Sam was happy Vernon called. You can't change that Kenny and Mario love to talk about him. Granted im the superior Rockets fan here cause I actually listen to Kenny's Sirius radio show.

    Im using the internet, TV, and satellite radio, Im not only the most advanced fan, I'm the greatest one.

    So therefore it ires you to know that Vernon and Sam are still friends, crushing your terribly worded argument that Vernon 'choked' the team. Vernon CREATED the word CLUTCH. Before Vernon, you were thinking of getting an automatic on your KIA because you don't know CLUTCH.

    My arguments make perfect sense, you are blinded by hatred.
    you are blinded and think everyone is perfect and no one makes mistakes. Vernon had a turbulent personal life, but his heart was still with his teammate SAM CASSELL. 12 freaking years later! if that's not what the spirit of the Houston Rockets are about, then you are les alexander.
