i could only dream of what Vernon would do if Raja Bell tried that closeline crap he did on Kobe on Vernon!

What if Jason Terry tried his crap on Vernon?

Vernon took no abuse whatsoever AND had MJ-level talent. Too bad he could never get his issues sorted out for long.

Maxwell is a mentor and a champion. He realized that his championship knowledge and guidance would help Sam and his young Clippers through a tough game with the Suns.
Sam is a result of Maxwell, Dream, Mario... They made him the brash rookie and now the best PG in the league in the playoffs. what you do say? Jason Kidd?
that guy didnt perform in the crunch (again) and is eliminated.

This is the type of stuff you don't get on other Rocket forums, why Clutch Fans dominates them all, and I'm reading Rudy T's book right now so this is a trip down memory lane.

Some of you will appreciate this photo:

I know a lot of people don't like vernon because of the way his life turned out and his troubles but that dude was my favorite rocket. he was so real. as much of a thug as he was he didn't talk alot of noise on the court. as much as he could jack up bad shots he got along with his teamates.

when people used to hang out at mcgregor park I was there at the car wash with a friend and there was vernon sipping on a heineken in the next wash. he just said what's up. he wasn't pretentious. he was cool.

I have dream land and read it last summer, great book; Mario Elie, Kenny Smith and Rudy T are in the background, I can't tell who the other Rocket that he's talking to is, maybe Clyde? And the guy standing up? Dunno either.

I remember Vernon walking up and talking in people's ear right before they shot free throws. They usually missed. I'd love to know what he was saying.

I have a friend who can be real obnoxioius. One night in a bar he bumped into Vernon, and Mario. My friend started being a jerk to both those guys, and Mario was about to clock him. Vernon actually talked Mario down.

Given the reputations you might think it would be the other way around.

Of course when my other friends and I heard about it, we all let our friend know he was a fool, and told him it would have been a good lesson if Mario had beat him down.

your friend should have tried fighting Mario. Then when mario clocks him, he would have the Rockets championship rings engraved in his forehead!

if i won the lotto. i'd pay off Vernon's child support.
I know what he did for the city of Houston.
    for all of us.

he erased the memories of the oilers collapse.
he ended the stigma of a championless city.

screw whatever humanitarian needs in the world. they can take care of their own damn selves. screw the Tsunami victims, if they hate America, then we should never help them out.

Vernon is an American. He needs our help.
If Vernon was put in the war zone, he killed ALL THE MFers that opposed him. just like he killed Kevin Johnson and Marle and Ainge.

Vernon is among the worst memories of the championship years... he ultimately choked on the team... and they still won without him.
