    Couple things here.
    • McLane went to a few playoffs (to understate it), and (*helLO*) a WS. As such, I don't get the comparison of McNair to McLane. And if you try to run "McLane was cheap!!!!" in here... *sigh*...
    • Did you just compare McLane to Donald Sterling? Foolishness and rubbish. We're all frustrated, but don't get stupid on us.

I hear you, and I don't blame you.

    This is a d*mn circus!
The Texans Propaganda machine is weirdly. . .the most thorough
basically whatever they want printed and put on the radio is put out there
no questions asked. . . . [by their flagships]
    then
it is by far the most inept and ridiculous!

    Rocket River
    GOD!!! This is clumsy!!

Nice read. I expect the defense to be better, but only because it can't get much worse and at least Wade won't be so vanilla like Bush was. But I don't think it'll improve enough to make a significant difference. I'm thinking maybe somewhere in the 20-22 range, not quite where we were in 2009.

The defense this year was surprisingly more effective(read perhaps just bottom half instead of last) when it wasn't predictable and sent some backers/safeties.

Doubt it. I don't think Uncle Bob wants someone who's never called a defense.

I wish you where right but too bad we have a head coach and gm that prefer undersized DTs. We have the lowest average weight on both lines O and D.

He was cheap. What is your point?

McNair just went cheap on an uncapped year.

Exactly. Singletary is a fiery guy, and a good motivator. He hasn't really proved to be a good coach, outside of coaching linebackers.

McLane wasn't cheap...he spent his money poorly later on, but he wasn't cheap. Carlos Lee doesn't think McLane was cheap at all.

But comparing McLane, who had the Astros winning organization of the year awards in MLB while being ridiculously competitive from 1997-2006, to McNair is just silly. The only comparison is they're owners from Houston.
