So you are from hongkong? I guess you're wrong. European league could give a better offer than Chinese League(CBA). For instance, Bozi wells leads the salary of foreign players with $1 mil per year in CBA, the Chinese Top League of Men's Basketball. And the former Hornet player Pargo get about $35 mil each year(after tax) in Russia. CBA is not so good as you imaged.
i do not know much about cba but they like rockets's player. XDDD pargo's contract is before financial crisis. now, many europe's club cannot pay player's salary on time...
Sure, because of Yao, games of rockets are wildely televised in China. Consequently, people in China know players of rockets well. Yeah, luckly, Pargo signed his contract last year, before the outbreak eve. To be frank, little do I know the situation of European league. But I heard that some European team are offering a good contract to Rubio. This make me feel that the situation is still fine in Europe. Anyway, glad to see another Chinese here.
If the thing about Gortat is true, I dont think it's the right move. If Yao is our for 1/2 the season, or more, we need someone like Camby to play center. Gortat may work as a decent backup for Yao, but he's not a starter.
I don't know what wafer was thinking hopefully he comes to his senses unless he just doesn't want to play for Rick but i've looked every where and haven't seen or heard anything about wafer rejecting 3.5 mil so get some proof please!!
i'm glad Wafer is gone. All he did last season was ball hogging and arguing with Rick for more minutes. This guy has potential but he cannot do it with his cocky attitude. 3.5 million is more then what he's worth so bye Wafer RIP MJ
I thought teams couldn't make offers until 11 pm tonight. I don't see how Wafer could have gotten and rejected an offer already.
That is what I thought also, so i went to ESPN and found a free agency list. 2009 Houston RESTRICTED None UNRESTRICTED Ron Artest Dikembe Mutombo Von Wafer http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FreeAgents-09-10 There couldnt have been an offer to Wafer until 12:01am July 1.(unless i am completely wrong) enough of the Wafer hate for now.
I think teams are a little less eager to pay a guy who they watched get shut down by Sasha Vujacic and argue with his coach. But yes, if it's a multi year deal then I guess it's a little more understandable. I suppose someone out there might be thinking Wafer is worth bigger money.
He has to feed his family! If you make more money you spend more money! On behalf of Latrell Sprewell & Patrick Ewing!
Now you see the master plan at work. Morey is a genius. Here's his dilemma - he needs a servicable big to limit Yao's minutes and cover for him when he is out. Gortat is identified as the best available free agent. But no way he will come here to just be Yao's backup, as he wants to start. So. . . Get the Rockets' team doctor to come out with a doomsday scenario for Yao's hairline fracture, the day before free agency starts. POSSIBLY CAREER ENDING! But break this scoop when there is not enough time before the start of free agency for the second opinions Yao will get to come back saying that he will be fine, he just needs a little more time for the injury to heal on its own. We all know the team doctors say what the team wants them to say (a la TMac is fine, he just needs to get in shape and play). Then . . . BOOM. Houston becomes the top free agent destination for aspiring centers! Gortat signed, sealed and delivered. Two weeks later, the second opinions come back that Yao will be fine, will not miss any time.
Wafer will catch on somewhere (fits in Cleveland), but I'm glad we're not going to overpay him. Especially if we're on the verge of tearing down the house. Evan
