You can go head and add the entire current rocket team to that list since almost all of them have quit on the team at one end of the floor (except Hayes)

jvg would be the obvious choice, as he combines clyde's houston connection and larry brown's actual quitting on a team. or maybe rick adelman for giving up on Sam's monocle idea without ever even giving it a chance.

    Really?
He whined about playing time when he wasn't ready. He proved that in NY.

Predicting the Lakers to win it all while they were playing the Rockets.

Then of course the Toronto game.

He quit during a regular season game during a meaningless and crappy season

he still carried the team farther in the playoffs than they have in over a decade

Carried in the playoffs with contributions from nobodies named Ron Artest and Yao Ming.

Yeah, how can anybody forget Jordan quit on his team and then came back because he found that basketball was the only sport he could win in?

Does he need defending? I thought his greatness was self evident. Max did quit at the end, however, because he was royally pissed off about losing his job to Drexler. He thought Clyde was going to play at the 3, it didn't work out that way, and Vernon blew a gasket. Until then, he was a hero in the pantheon of Rockets greatness and remains there still, sullied, perhaps, but standing tall and possessing something most NBA players can only dream of. A championship and the hardware* to prove it.

    (*unless he hocked it!)

You're clueless if you attribute that playoff series run all due to AB's doing.

Even though they had their issues with management, Dream nor Mad Max ever left the bench during a game and hissyfitting like a damn girl and QUITTING on the team--during a game in the 4th quarter.

That was a pure b**** move
