What?! How does saying nothing imply that he's not happy in PHX? If anything, it implies he is ignoring fans and keeping his mind on the game. Please explain because I don't understand your logic.
AB is 26 years old. Far from a Child. maybe more like Spoiler He didn't fight his way. They traded Rafer and AB was left. Maybe Ab is just bad at math and forgot that Lowry's contract was up for renewal and he would have to wait just like any other Rocket. more Spoiler So competitive he walked out on his "tanking team" while they were fighting for a PLAYOFF tie breaker (that seems to be important now in this playoff run) maybe he could have just kept his mouth shut but we all know AB isn't that smart. I'm saying I see no problem with what he said if he doesn't miss Houston at all. Sure the smart thing would have been to just ignore it and not say anything but I'm not going to make a big deal out of him saying that most people should know. Why would he miss a place he demanded a trade from.
He had a nice game against the Lakers last night. 15 points in 14 minutes, including a 3-pointer. Also 3 assists and a rebound. Maybe he is starting to regain his old form. I was one who always thought that Lowry was the better choice as a starter for the Rockets, but it would have been nice to have Brooks coming off of the bench for 20 points a game, like Carl Landry used to do. Unfortunately, Brooks did not want to do that. Nevertheless, Brooks was a solid player for the Rockets and I want to remember him and his time here in a positive way. I hope that maybe after a few months Aaron can come around to feeling the same way. I can only imagine this is all a big disappointment to him right now. But, as is true with all things in life, this too shall pass. Hopefully he continues to re-find his old form as a player with the Phoenix Suns. Good luck, Aaron!
I should have put rumor beside that. There is a rumor that he told his Agent to get a trade done. I remember reading it on this board I can't remember if it was an article or a poster.
Aaron could have easily said, "I miss the fans"...That wouldnt be an insult to his teammates or his team. Or he could have just said "thanks". His response was unnecessary. Shows the kind of guy he is. This whole season has pretty much tarnished his image.
^^ Great minds think alike (edit) wow I wish that not to be true... but he could have simply replied with... thanks.
maybe he thought you were asking about eating at the aquarium, or hanging out downtown on week nights or driving on 610 by the Galleria during rush hour. idk
Actually, I was just trying to be funny...and basically say, "I have moved on." My stance was always that we needed both of them -- that our best position was PG, because of both of them. That through 48 minutes we could beat ppl because of our PGs (one a starter and one leading an awesome bench last year.) That said, things change. Based on his actions this year, I don't think I like AB enough to follow his career like I did with K9 for awhile...and most certainly Cuttino.
And you don't have akwkward silences when there's no real conversation going on. Brooks made a comment and the OP didnt know what to respond. The awkward silence was one-sided. This wasn't a real conversation. I dont see what some of you want Brooks to say in that situation. That he misses houston? So that another fan would hear and post about it too? He's better off being anti-anything that isn't Phoenix , especially in front of a crowd.
I had the exact situation to a T with Carl Landry. I don't really hold it against him though. I'm sure it gets annoying and I don't really need someone to write their name on something that I own, after all.
It's not the right answer. He may not miss houston but when someone shows appretiation and loss for you by stating "we miss you", the respectable and classy answer is, "thanks". That's the right answer.
This is the truth. You won't catch me saying that NBA players aren't a bunch of overpaid brats, though there are a decent amount of classy ones. Unfortunate that AB doesn't seem to be.
