But from watching the game, it was a bunch of passes that should of been caught and they f'd it up. I liked his penetration toward the basket and the will to take over the game. If we didn't have the 2nd team scrubs come out and play, we would of tore up the Mavs...

Bring out the annointing oil....Finally, a kid with athleticism, court vision, AND a killer outside shot to boot....If only he were 3 inches taller I would have a number 0 jersey by now....

Does this mean we would rather have Brooks starting over Rafer? I would. I think he is NBA ready.

Had a ringside seat Tuesday night for the Rox at the Vegas Summer League - BROOKS LOOKED IMPRESSIVE! The thing that jumped out at me, was his ability to dribble and move in traffic. He definantly has skills! If Im the Rox, James starts at point with Brooks as my #2 - dish Alston - if we can recoup anything. Although Id still love too get a cheap contract Francis back in the fold!

Unless we trade away our massive guard force, I don't think Brooks will be able to crack the roation. I know Rick has been known to have a deep bench, but with Head, Alston, Harris, Bonzi, and Snyder already in the mix, it will be hard to find him any minutes.

I guess if we are absolutely sure he can handle the PG spot as a rookie, then I think we can trade Alston away. It's tough though. Alston can't shoot, but he can control the offense better than anyone else on the team. If Brooks comes into the pre-season running the offense half as well as Alston and shooting like he is now, then we really have no need for Alston.

I also don't like the JLIII comparisons. They have the same height and are quick, but that's about it. JLII can't break down a defender, he can't pass very well, has trouble defending other guards. Brooks, on the other hand, is good if not great at each of those.

About the "AB" thing. I go to Oregon Brooks' nickname is AB, although some of the other players started referring to him as "Big Shot Brooks" in interviews.

I watched both Summer League games and have to say that Brooks will be a hot and cold shooter.

He has been hot since 3rd Qtr of the 1st game.

Lets wait until Summer League is finished.

I'm not rushing to call this a steal because in summer league i want to see a guy do something that he isn't known to be good at. Coming out everyone knew brooks gets out of control. I want to see him run the team, set players up and score when giving the chance. I don't really like the idea of him looking for his shot as much. Real pg's have composure and know when to do what. This is the reason francis still can't be considered a pg. He's was good when he decided to score or pass, but when given options or forks in the rd, he struggled and turned the ball over. What i want to know that in pick and roll and there is a switch does he know when and if the break the switch down or dump it in to the big/small matchup? On the break or semi break, does he know not to give the ball to yao 18 ft away filling or to keep going or pull up from ft line or pull it back out. i know thats asking alot, but the real pg's come into the league and always know when to do these things. the hybrid guys stuggle and some never can change.

If he were 3 inches taller, he'd be a lottery pick and not on the Rockets...so I doubt you'd have a 0 jersey by now ;)

I wondered about that because the announcers in the game last night kept saying "look at AB" :) Thanks for letting us know.

I still like the nickname DarkWing Duck! LOL

This is true, but I was thinking that maybe we could somehow bring a specialist in a stretch him out before the season begins :D

According to the announcers at last nights' game, he's grown from 5'10" to 6'1" since the pre-draft measurements. He may be there by the time the season starts.

He played great, but take all these performances with a grain of salt, both the positive and negative outings. JL3 was the MVP last year for a reason. He was clearly the best player in the Vegas league and was awarded for his play. Fast forward to the season and everything was completely different.

What was tj ford's draft measurements height? I think that brooks is gonna be a better version of him.
