is it just me, or does he seem *not* incredibly quick? I mean come on...he's nowhere near Iverson's speed.
pfffft, thx for the clips, meowgi... though i'm hardly impressed. not until i see him do rafer's signature teardrop.
The only good thing about him is his speed. Adelman probably wanted him on the team. If we trade Rafer he can become are back up point guard.
yea he's quick..great slasher. He's small but being quick definitely makes up for it. Hopefully he is like earl boykins or bobby jackson. he's definitely not john lucas jr..he's much quicker and a better fearless scorer
None of the PGs on the Rox roster have madeven half the production this kid made in his senior year or any year of his college career for that matter. He can finish stronger than Rafer in the paint shoot almost as good as Luther out of college. Im cool with the pick. Im gonna wait till after I watch him play to pass judgment Morey and the rest of the Rox mgmt.
He lost to the a female player in the 3-point shootout's battle of the sexes, although he did win the men's shootout!
Ok, Rick found himself a younger Bobby Jackson. One down. Young Peja, Bibby, Webber, Vlade, Christie stun doubles are on the way, folks.

so can anyone tell me whose faster??? JohnLucas3 vs Brooks???? the highlight makes Broooks look like JL3
let 's just say he is going be good at the offense end, he is quick he can score.. wat about at the defense end. any other PG can post him up... except boykin I think...
i don't know anything about this guy. i'm looking on the brightside and this potentially means we're trading rafer alston and or luther head and aquiring a pf with them or the mle. we must have something up our sleeves.
I've seen a few of Brooks games, and these videos. Watch the layups again. He has very good balance. If I was to compare those quick layups and his positioning to another player in the league, it would be either D. Harris or T. Parker the way he is is leaning forward and seems to barely get the ball up to score. I'm not saying he is going to be that good by any means, but from what I've seen the layup is not part of his game I would worry about. I'd worry about how much he could drive to the basket and take the abuse from big men & that those floaters looked a bit low. He needs the floaters to be higher. His shot seems to be okay, smooth, and He actually jumps so as long as he has open shots (he'll be on the Rockets, how many shots did Alston, et all, have with like 5 feet of open space), he can get them off and hit them. I think he could be Alston 2.0.
Did you even watch those vids? They weren't highlight mixes. They were highlights from two separate games and the 3 point contest. That's vastly different than splicing up all of his best moments over a season or college career. They were his best moments in two games, and he looked pretty great. I wish he had size, but if he had more size we wouldn't have been able to pick him. He appears to be lightning fast and the 3 point competition proves he can shoot. I'm starting to like this pick. Now they just need to make a move to bring in a power forward and unload some of our excess guards.
im not saying brookes is gonna be as good as tony parker....but tony parker is 6'2 and drives by ppl and lays it up over bigger guys all the time using his quickness....
I think what makes a strong playoff contender is clutchness. Once you are winning enough games, you are qualified to go to the playoffs. However, once you're in the playoffs, it's going to be much harder to win a single game. This is what I mean when I say clutchness. Will we be able to get those clutch rebounds, the final touches on the field goals when the clock's finally winding down? Will we be able to find another good rebounder for when Yao Ming gets overwhelmed at the last 15 minutes of the game? If Aaron Brooks can provide the same energy and clutchness that he has shown previously, I believe that he is a valuable asset not to be discouraged.
