Brooks is still a good and effective player in this league, especially against teams with bigger line ups like the mavs- he just burns them with his speed. Brooks has performed for us last playoffs with bev and did well. I hope he stays a rocket, i like the 3 guard situation we have going. When shots arent falling or we need a spark brooks is there.

Honestly I agree. I'd like to see him get most of Garcia's minutes. Small ball is better than no ball.

The Rockets just have too many good players. Maybe Morey can trade for someone horrible, and then the problem would be solved.

Brooks is a good shooter and playmaker and certainly has a situational role on the team. However his lack of defense limits his time on the court considerably. Harden's weakness is often his defense so it's very difficult to play to two together which even further limits AB's court time. Bev and Lin do a decent job of covering up for Harden defensively. AB's job should be to play when the opposing team has a guard who is not a scorer and/or with spot minutes to rest our more defensive guards.

Brooks isn't better than Lin or Beverley, its just the reality of the situation, yes he brings a different dynamic with his shooting but hes a net negative if he isnt hitting from deep

It's a weird situation with AB being our 3rd best all around PG but imo the 2nd best isolation 1v1 player on the team after Harden.

I would like to see Mchale bring him to take the shots with like 6 seconds left in a quarter to see how his shot looks fresh off the bench, because I think a 0 minutes played Aaron Brooks should be one of the 5 guys on the court in 4th quarter game winner time.

he should imo. Yes his isos are a pain to watch at times but hes a serviceable player to have coming off the bench. I don't see why not having a 1-2 combo with lin/brooks or bev/brooks. bev and lin can guard backup 2's imo
