this is the best thing for them. if they aren't needed righ now, then why not let them go work on thier game elsewhere.
This is not official yet... We have heard there is some rumblings about it.. Also Landry can't be sent to us now (Unless Novak or Brooks gets called back up).... Only two NBA player per affiliate team are allowed on a D-League Roster... The Viper could still add more NBA players but would 1. Have to cut a current player off their D-League Roster... and 2. it would have to be from either the Hornets or Cavs...
no one can bring him up. brooks and novak are still part of our roster, but just sent to the NBDL, so they can expirence playing.
Just a quick question: are you able to get your player back at any time from d-league in case of an injury or trade?
it said he shot isn going down, but thats most the team right now! plus if he would get playing time maybe his shot will go down...
If I remember correctly, the only way a d-league player can remain exclusive to one team is that player must be a rookie or second year player that is on a 15 man NBA roster.
Jordan Farmar last year even played a NBDL game the same day that he got called up to help the Lakers in their own game. So players can literally be called up any minute.
This is what's best for him. He isn't ready for any real NBA playing time. Also the fact that you have Skip, Francis, James and Head, you don't really need any more small guards.
Sometimes they post d-league highlights on the nba.com website. I will keep an eye out and see if any of the Vipers highlights make it (I think the first game there was some of Gabe) Maybe we should make the Novak D-league watch thread just a D-league watch thread. The Vipers don't play again until Sunday. So we can post updates after that.
I have a question. Both Novak and Brooks make more money than Landry. Does assigning both of them to the D-League affect the Rockets Salary Cap?
Sending a player to D-League is no different from them being inactive when it comes to salary and roster issues.
You saying that made me look it up. They have a D-League show on every other Friday at 8:30pm ET (replay at 10). Here's where I found a little bit about what's going to be on NBA-TV http://www.nba.com/dleague/news/nba_tv_071119.html I would imagine that any games will be played on taped delay other than those listed in the press release.
