Hard to believe it has come to this. This is a gut-check moment for AB since clearly we're not the only ones seeing him act this way. He has to look out for himself and consider his career beyond Houston. And believe me: putting this display on in a contract year isn't the best way to go about securing your future in this league. Very unfortunate.
JVG kept every one of those guys in check. VSpan later took to crying for his mommy. Bonzi was summarily benched behind the scenes when he wouldn't shape up. None of them ever actually dared to walk out on the team, especially during a game.
It's funny, everyone always compares Lowry to Rafer because of their shooting/play styles but the inconsistency Brooks shows is much more reminiscent of Rafer, percentages non-withstanding. (although lately he has been Rafer-like in that department too) Brooks is to playmaking as to what Rafer Alston is to shooting 3 pointers.
Bonzi went AWOL. JVG knew how to use the media. The T-Mac of Greece line won him the all PR points in the Spanoulis drama.
To whom it may concern: man you think im whining about rep??? you doing this is over use of power im in no way saying/doing anything wrong!!!!! just because i said "i would rep if i could"?! while the real trolls in this site run rampant!!! if you feel like you need to take my privileges for some thing so small then do it dont threaten me dude like im a child! remember this, you need the ppl to keep this site up and running and its not the other way around!!
I never really thought this whole Brooks situation would come to a head the way it has. He really painted himself into a corner with his play and his behavior as of late. This is probably the worst possible way for him to handle the contract situation, because now any team that DOES end up bidding on him is going to use his "attitude problems" as a reason to lowball him (including the Rockets). It would be sad if this one emotional outburst costs him millions of dollars in the long run. He needed focus his anger onto the court, and play with a chip on his shoulder, but instead, he let his emotions consume him.
He wasnt doing anything to help the team win games anyway so he wont be missed tonight. If his outside shot is not going in you dont even know he is on the court. Trade him....
I believe I saw DD(Da Dakota) posting on the Chron website under the AB article about AB being suspended. Check it out: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/7415579.html . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name withheld DaDakota 11:53 AM on February 6, 2011 I can't wait for the Chronicle to do just what Adelman said to do....."Ask Brooks" Let's get to reporting on this, and find out what is going on...
lol so much for his "taking a break from posting" soliloquy i bet his HUGE EGO got so bruised from getting banned by the clutchcrew that he really thinks he should only come back to grace us with his wisdom if he gets an apology from clutch or an online petition from 500 clutchfans members or both
Slightly better PG? PER doesn't take defense into consideration, and PER doesn't take how a player make other players around him better into consideration. Not to mention PER is heavily in favor of points scored(for example, a steal is considered as 1 point in PER, but I believe a steal is worth at least 2 points in real game.) Even in that case, Lowry's per is on par with AB in his best year. Lowry simply has been the better PG since last season. AB only beats Lowry when he is real hot.
