He can shoot as many as he wants. Last night the team looked like they left their brains and hearts at home. This loss isn't on AB.

The layup, the free throw and the three pointer are the most efficient shots in basketball. I'd rather have Brooks shooting an open three than Scola shooting a contested hook shot in the lane every time. Every time. That extra point actually matters a lot.

He's a shooting PG. the PG part is mostly b/c of his height. so, the best way for a shooter to get out of his slump is to keep shooting. that's how you find your rhythm. to add insult to injury, we were terrible on the glass as well. just a bad night overall for the team.

I don't mind Aaron shooting 3s simply because he's almost automatic every time he shoot. Now there are times he should have go for a layup rather than passing outside.

But the point is...they lost the game not because Aaron misses those shots but because they constantly getting outrebound and giving the Kings 2nd chance shots....this is what killed them.

Shooting 3s with his percentage is a very very good thing usually.

The expected value of each 3p shot he takes is 3 * .386 = 1.158.

In other words.......... people shooting 1.158 / 2 = 57.9% from the 2 point range is equivalent to Brooks 3 point shot. That's really efficient.

There's of course other issues like long rebounds and things but overall it's rather efficient compared to his 2 point shot.

38% on threes is the equivalent of 57% on twos so I say keep shooting them.

That new article on Kevin Martin's efficiency and true shooting percentage has really turned heads.

    Just a thought-
The little flaw that is see in all that is that they dont put the efficiency of shooting in the paint. A lay up or driving to the basket must be more efficient then any other shot. Does that make sense?

Sometimes he takes really tough 3s.. Also, I think he starts to dribble too much sometimes.. When he does this, he gets in trouble while driving to the hoop and throws a bad pass causing a turnover.

AB is not a point guard and he often plays 1 on 5; that's never going to change with this guy. He can score 20 in a heartbeat but he can easily go 3 for 20 and that's when this team gets outta sync and can't seem to find the hole. Unfortunately with K lowery hurt Adelman cannt bench AB when he plays that way..

So Ryan Bowen from OKC should take all the shots for the team because he has 100% FG% right now?

Basketball isn't math. Getting 5 players who averages 25 points doesn't mean you will score 125 every night.

Aaron should only take 3's if he is open. Stop forcing them and use his speed to get good looks or get his teammate open shots. IMO

    well sorta,
there's gotta be a balance. Look at Cassell, a perfect example for a shooting PG. In his best year, he was #2 in assists behind Jason Kidd.

I understand that Brooks felt he needed to be Isiah Thomas the other night, but I think the minutes and responsibility are wearing down on him.

A good, young, potential all-star point guard Brooks can't be hated that much by fans any team besides Rockets.

I can't understand why so many guys are hating Brooks. He is young, averaging 20 points and 5 assists in his second year, we're playing without Yao so it's a kind of a pointless season, he played very well last year in playoffs which was his first season as a starter.

After seeing that much hate for Brooks, I'm think what would have happened if CP3 or Deron Williams drafted by us. I'm pretty sure some of you guys criticize them for not shooting/hitting enough 3pointers. It's not like we always had top 5 point guards in this team and suddenly drooped to Brooks. Before Brooks our best point guard was RAFER ALSTON! Have respect for Brooks, he's still young and unexperienced, but still very good for now, he can only get better.

there's a higher winning percentage if we play team ball(pass/create), rather than to wait for AB go for 11-13 shooting.

That's why we are so inconsistent.

If you look at the elite pg's they pass first and then score when they can. AB forces to score and pass later.

This kid shoots 40 percent and has the most threes on record this season. Let him keep shooting and just wait until Trevor Ariza gets back to start groaning about this sort of problem.

    No.
The Rockets are so inconsistent because as illustrated last night they take games off and don't have an established system with all the players moving in and out of the roster. Plus they have issues with physical teams.

AB was just trying to step up last night because everyone else wasn't. You need players to pass too to get assist. Didn't see a lot of cutters last night.

I wouldn't put it all on him but he played poorly. It's not the 3's that I'm concerned about. It's the heavy minutes.
