Ouch! It's a good thing I didn't set up a poll to tally the votes. It's starting to look ugly. Well, at least I don't feel so lonely anymore. ;)

imho brooks' body has limited him to a career backup role from the beginning. him as the starting pg of a contending team was always a pipe dream. mainly by people who obviously don't know much about basketball because they think rafer alston is garbage.

at this point brooks hasn't shown me anything. he's not a great distributor. his defense will always be a liability. he even hasn't shown me that he's a more consistent shooter than rafer alston (which isn't too much to ask for...).

hopefully he can improve enough to be able to be a backup pg for a contending team. but he has to improve significantly to get such a role. his defense has to get better and he has to shoot better. if he can work on that he'll be fine as a bench scorer.

I don't think he's got the talent to be a starter in the NBA. He might start for a little bit somewhere at some point, but it would just be a temporary thing for a team that was with a big hole at PG.

Right now he's a very solid point guard as far as being a 3rd string at NBA level. I think the hope for him is being able to develop into a solid 2nd string PG that could maybe give you 15-20 MPG, and that's probably where he needs to get to. He will be the midget SG, change of pace type point guard though.

The Point gaurd is the most difficult position in the nba.Very hard to find a true point that has the ability to determine the out come of a game.

Imo I think that Aaron Brooks definitly has the tools to become a Star Point gaurd. Its a matter of experience and influence.Rafer Alston as much as some people dislike,is a Quality point gaurd.Maybe not the best shooter..but can handle the pressure and can run the offense. He is definitly some one who Aaron Brooks is learning from. I guess its a matter of Time will tell.

Someone as small as he is really needs to wow you with his other skill sets. To me he's 1.) small and 2.) not a pure point, so that ends the discussion for me right there. He has the ability to be a good long-range shooter, but his hit in confidence last year ended that, and it still seems he hasn't regained his confidence in this summer league. And don't even start with his defense.

He still has a little trade value right now, but PG's are supposed to make their biggest jump in their second year. Right now I'd be ok with Morey sticking with him as the backup (he's already better than Bobby Jackson) or using him as a chip in a deal to get a better player, but regardless of what happens Brooks' career arc will be determined in this upcoming year.

He will never be a starter. His only chance to be a good rotation player is (1) figuring out how to use his speed to dominate on offense and (2) becoming a deadly outside shooter. AB must put fear in defenders to make up for the fact opposing PGs lick their chops when they seem him on defense.

I don't believe he has the size or talent to be a starter. In fact, I think the Rockets ought to look to move him in a package before he shows what he truly is. You know, kind of like waiting a half year to long to move Luther and now he's devalued himself.

I think he'll do good if he's given a significant time.... One year under his belt, this will be an interesting season for him...

I don't think is better already than Bobby. Bobby brings you many things on the court, while actually Brooks only give you scoring and some good shots for partners via penetration. I'm very disappointed with his performance in this SL. It seems like he can not improve very much... He doesn't know read the game, accept it, he's not now a won't be never a good decision maker. He will be always a defensive problem because of his body... He can be as much a good backup, and thanks.

I think this SL has done very much harm on him, and wouldn't surprise me that Morey began to consider the posibility of including him in some trade. Nowadays, I would prefer give an oportunity to Barrera before Brooks.

I think AB will be a career backup, sparkplug change of pace role player. But I think way better upside then Moochie Norris, who only survived that long in the league cause his buddy Stevie hooked him up with a fat contract, otherwise Mooch was a journeyman scrub NBDL material player.

i'm guessing better than moochie, most likely a decent backup pg, and possibly starting in the future.

TJ Ford was a stud in college. He lead the NCAA in assists 8.27 apg. He has the innate ability to see a play develop before it happens. He also left school early for the NBA after his sophmore year and was drafted really high at 8th in 2003. He is also has lightning quick speed.

Does this sound like Aaron Brooks to you?

    Nuff said.

Baron Davis is 6'3 with a big body for a point, best case for Brooks is Tony Parker same type build and quickness, Brooks has more range but Parker is so much smoother not sure if Brooks could get to that level. Worst case back up 10 to 15 minutes change the pace off the bench.

Now that is funny  Berrera could barely move the ball without traveling in the S.L. (he doesn't have the handle or foot speed of Brooks) and if you think Brooks sucks at D, all Berrera does if foul.

I'm just hoping he'll be a quality back up. If he manages that, then I'll start hoping he develops into a quality starter.

Or let people blow by him, because he's too slow.
