Sorry, but this is a stupid post. Yao did not hurt us against the Jazz last year. The supporting casts did. Wow, blaming Yao when he was putting up around 25 and 10 against the Jazz. Yeah, the team is doing pretty awesome without him so far this first game.

I agree, and it is exactly the reason I want the young guys to get some playoff experience, so we can find out if they are part of the solution, or not.......

OK, I was wrong. AB is indeed a Jazz killer (or maybe a Deron Williams killer). He got away with one there.

Yeah one for us, 20 for the Jazz. Brooks got flattened at the other end - the Jazz never wait to pay back.

Then AB replies with 5 points in the next 30 seconds. I'll take it.

Taking out AB was a major turning point in tonight's game...in a bad way.

    No ****.

I was cursing Adelman the entire 4th Q because of it

The only good thing I can think of about this game is that at least it showed us Brooks can play significant minutes for us next year. He needs to work on his shot this summer and then he'll be a deadly offensive player.

We actually agree on something. If the same scenario happens in games 3 or 4, I betcha AB stays in.

As some of you may know, I have a twin brother who's a Jazz fan. I was on the phone with him for the entirety of games 1 and 2.

You have no idea how disbelieving he was that Adelman took Brooks out. "Brooks is your guys' best offense by far," he said.

Taking out Brooks down the stretch was INEXCUSABLE. We DESERVED TO LOSE just for that.

Brooks was getting easy buckets at will, both for himself and for his teammates. Then Rick takes him out and we don't get a field goal for what... 5 minutes?

Why in the world would you take your only potent scorer out of the game? Why? Unbelievable. There's no way Brooks should've been taken out of that game. Jazz fans all breathed a sigh of relief when he got pulled.

Brooks was taken out because Deron was gonna post him up every time down the floor for an easy two points. its useless trading baskets that way.

I hope everybody now sees that Brooks is our best chance to win at the point.

I like BJax but he shouldn't be playing 30 minutes. He winds down after 15 minutes, forces shots, takes too much dribble time, can't beat his defender one on one. You clear out for Brooks and he's your guy that just destroys a defense. Brooks is the only guy we got that can take the pressure off McGrady and Scola. Brooks should be starting and playing 30 minutes. I knew I knew I knew as soon as Adelman took him out and went back to BJax that our chances were going down the drain.

Not to mention Head. Luther has no business in the rotation at this point. Aaron should have his minutes and Novak should be spelling McGrady instead of Head. Brooks should be playing 30, BJax should be getting 15-18 and Novak should be getting 10 minutes or so. Head should be out of the rotation.

Uh, he did not post up AB once tonight...he scored on a drive on him where he spun in the lane, but otherwise, Brooks was the one who was the aggressor against Dwill.

That postup bologna is so overrated. Brooks made DWill work and with a little more playcalling in Brooks' favor, we could actually force Utah to adjust and free up Scola and McGrady.

I think RA took Brooks out after Brooks flattened Dwill and Utah returned the favor down in the paint on the next play - either Okur or that really ugly SF Harpring just ran face first into AB in the paint.

We finally found our 2nd player with some guts, Harris being the first. Too bad they are both so short.

Can we do one of those electrical mind transfers between Yao and Harris?

I suspect a big reason for Brooks being benched in the fourth tonight is Adelman's loyalty to Jackson from previous years.

It's pretty much obvious to both Rockets fans and Jazz fans that Brooks should have stayed in that game.

Just like it was pretty obvious that Hubert Davis should have been subbed in for John Starks in Game 7.

But unfortunately, too many coaches insist on dancing with whom they feel most comfortable with instead of who can win them the game.

That's one thing I miss about Rudy. He was never scared to let Scotty Brooks finish a game or leave Chucky Brown in to win us a Game 5 at Utah.

Not only that, but Deron abused Jackson in the 4th on power drives and fakes anyways. At least Brooks was staying in front of the guy and making him earn his points.
