they aren't THAT bad on the road. they just don't always bring the same focus, but i can assure you that will change in the playoffs. furthermore, they only have to win ONE road game man. so people really need to stop saying how the jazz are a bad road team as a reason the rockets will win. also, many of those bad road losses came when they were struggling early in the season when they were struggling just like the rockets were. utah and houston were the top 2 teams in 2008, but they are just far more talented than us, face it. we are a team built for the regular season.
Why do you say that? You know what you're saying applies to Utah as well. All Utah needs to do is lose 1 game and they're in trouble. They have 3 games at home, so they have to protect all these games. Whiles we have 4, so if maintain our energy at home, we can win. By the way, I won't agree with you at all when it comes to talent. Do you know which is the most talented team in NBA right now? Ye the Denver Nuggets, they have arguably the most atheletic, most talented players in NBA, but they can't play for *****. Talent don't win ball games, Chemistry does. By the way, if its one thing rockets fan learnt this season, its impossible is nothing. We managed to get ourselves into the playoffs when experts drop us out long ago. We managed to continue our streak with another 10 games after Yao was out. Haven't you learnt anything yet? By the way, if you Jazz isn't that bad a road team, you're probably half a jazz fan or a long time jazz fan who has been trolling this forum. If a team is to be considered as elite, it has to be good in both road and home. Dallas dropped out of the catergory of elite IMO, and denver is just... horrible. Btw, I just watched some of Brooks highlights of the pass few games. This guy can play. He has got great defense (got fast reflex) and great atheletism. Im sure he'll do some damage to Jazz, I have a good feeling.
I think Novak might be a candidate to make a real impact from the bench in this series. His outside shooting could really break Utah out of the zone they like to play. If we get some outside shooting, the lanes can open up for McGrady, Brooks and Head to drive to the basket.
Who said you have to be tall to be better point guard Kevin Johnson of the Phonenix was only inch taller than Brook but he can still dunk and he can play defense as good as any point guard during that time. I think AB will doing just fine in the playoff because he has a speed and is capable of finishing at the basket. Imagine next year he will probably a starter.
Ye, remember when we played brooks vs the Suns game and they just got completely confused. I think if RA creates a few unit, we can break down the Jazz defense. Have novak in their with brooks and T-mac. Make it as creative as possible. RA's best at that, and I'm confident he'll work something out. Our bench players are all special in their own kinda way. Brooks with the speed, landry with the explosiveness and Novak with the 3 point lay ups. Insert Novak in the PF spot and the Jazz pf will be forced to step out. Insert Brooks in the PG spot and Deron will have to run his ass off. Insert Landry or Harris at the same time, you get double the effect, double the explosiveness.
Novak is the Ace up Adelmans sleeve. Brooks has to hit the open threepointer when Utah gives him room. If he can do that, he won't hurt us.
deron williams is injured. put the BLURR on him. make williams sit in pain! "I can't feel it when I'm just walking around,'' Williams said. "It doesn't hurt when I walk around. It's when I cut and stuff." DO IT DO IT DO IT!
I have a strange feeling everybody Utah didn't see in last playoff series will hurt them. Brooks, Scola, Novak, Landry, Bobby Jackson. They will have a harder time preparing for us. Love Brooks quickness advantage, will make D-will expend a lot of energy.
Well it is only good news for us. Hopefully that forces him to be not 100%. He is the key player for the Jazz so it helps us a little bit.
If................Aaron could average 17 ppg this series on efficient shooting, say 48% from the field and 40% from 3, with low turnover count, I'd say we will win the series.
definitely! we must make deron guard brooks. deron will foul out if brooks can get past him inside the arc!
Point guard should be an advantage for us. Deron Williams is still injured from Carmelo's flagrant foul on him. It didn't help us on April 14th, when we lost to the Jazz.
We've already had about 4 to 5 "Whose gonna be our x-factor?" type threads now. We've mentioned Battier, Mutombo, Scola, Jackson, Landry, and now Brooks. The bottomline is that ANYONE on this can step up BIG for us on any given game. It's not about any one single player. That's something I love about this team; we may not have many star status players, but we do have guys who are big-game players and will step up when needed.
This is precisely why we need apocclass. Brooksball has tried a Utah Jazz anti-jinx thread, but it was half-hearted. apocclass seems to be that one guy ready to go strong for the anti-jinx. Keep up the good work, man!
dude.. chill he's just being reasonable with reality, it's just a fact that they r bigger stronger better and more talented than we r, for us to win the series we need to play at an near perfect level. it's true if we gonna have to rely on aaron to be the difference maker then we r in real trouble, he is after all just a rookie. even though he is really good, but he's not quite ready for the playoff to be a really huge difference maker, if he was we wouldn't have traded bonzi for jackson. i'm not saying we have no shot, but for us to win we need to play well as a team.
