i saw the same old francis. i saw him picking up his dribble before he decided to pass or shoot, and his teammates had to bail him out by running towards him. he did pass, but he seemed to do it in slow motion. he also doesnt pressure the defense like mke james does, or get the ball in the right person's hands like rafer does. he had a nice penetration play but besides that he didnt show me anything special. kirk snyder impressed me far more than francis did.
Francis had some really crisp passing. He did the little things that were good. Hard fouls, getting into the passing lanes, set up his teammates etc. His shot was off but I still like the shots he took. He can penetrate which is what we have been missing from our guards. Noticed that he didn't try to do the old Francis stuff which is to iso and drive to the hole. No crossovers.
It's CLEAR...that the thread starter is piling on the "It's Time" theme. Seriously, I thought Steve did ok, except for forcing several shots. It's like having 2 Mike James' on this team. I'm glad we got to see him and hope we get to see more of him and Brooks because one of our PG's has to go. Oh and SCOLA NEEDS TO START! Hayes is nice, but no way he should be starting.
he was in front of the basket, he didn't want to get dunk on... and he just did it to intimidate. but yea no defense.
It's AB's first game and played less than 3 mins in garbage time. Now the conclusion is hes the best PG on the bench. I like AB a lot. He can be very good. But let's be real. It's too early to say who's the best.
Aaron Brooks shoot 1000%, he's should start over KOBE On serious note, he can shoot and penetrate; definately a weapon once he get some playing time.
Yeah, I think he will get some looks in practice this week. We might see a new rotation come Wednesday after Adelman has a chance to re-evaluate things.
I would like to join my colleagues, Joseph Yetti and Mr. Poprocks, in extending a warm welcome back to Stevie.
Francis has a kind of mystique that affects the game. Though his shots were off, he is a good shooter, especially mid-range. Much better than Rafer. His ability to drive is much needed. Plus, he made several excellent passes, delivered some hard fouls, and didn't have a turnover. He deserves some playing time, the team needs him. As to AB, I would really like him to get a chance, he has enormous potential. He can shoot better than Rafer (by far), is quicker, has good handles, and a decent passer. He is tough and takes it to the rim with lightening speed, and actually converts. Yes, he is inexperienced, but he deserves to see the court.
I don't hate Francis, and I saw the same thing. His ability to penetrate could prove valuable, but I don't think he will continue to produce 0 turnovers. He seemed tentative with the initial dribble and way too comfortable with the mid range jumper. What's with picking up your dribble, Steve??
