Good points you made, anybody with decent knowledge of the game will know AB is not a true PG and doesn't know how to control the game. This is exactly what happened in the postseason vs the Jazz. The only reason it was competitive was because of Grady and Rafer. People on the AB bandwagon have to remember that.

brooks seems to lack the in between game that lowry has. everytime he goes over a pick he NEVER passes to the roller. i dont know if its because of his size or because of his lack of ability. Lowry makes great pick and roll passes even though hes about the same size as aaron. this isnt about brooks vs lowry though. brooks will be starting the rest of the year. adelman isn't going to destroy his confidence. the dillema is lowry is a better spark off the bench and a better game manager than brooks.

Competitive because of Grady and Rafer huh??? Plzzzzzzzzz, i would ship these 2 fools out of here if i can. Wake the f*** up and get some clue because Rafer is a one dimensional player that can only jack up 3s. He and Tmac are cindarella players...by that i mean they play like gurls and afraid of body contact. That is why these 2 fools don't like driving to the basket and draw contact.

Barry was terrible last night as well....making bad pass decision. John Barry is better at passing.

I agree. He missed shots and had some terrible turnovers. But it happend in the 2nd quarter so you can't blame him. But he has to play better than that.

10-2 is signifcant in that it shows the team is winning while he learns.

I am sorry you are tired of the facts.

What does that mean? how much of the 10 is because Ab is starting in stead of Rafer? How much of the 2 is due to "while he learns"? Do you see improvement in his PG skills? If you really think about it, is "the team is winning while he learns" any different than the thread title?

I'm not even going to address your last sentence.

These are Aaron's stats as a starter:

    Team record: 10-2
    MPG: 35.2
    PTS: 12.8
    AST: 4.6
    REB: 4.4
    FG%: 37.1%
    3P%: 37.9%

I have to ask. Why is it that every player we bring in to be a starting PG can't shoot straight? Let's run through the list -- Rafer Alston, John Lucas III, Mike James, Steve Francis, Aaron Brooks -- they all have been very sub-par shooters for us. It's frustrating.

Wow, his FG% is even lower than 3p%. That tells you his efficiency in running the team isn't very good.

Aaron doesn't have any peripheral vision whatsoever. He get's into the lane and has a black hole mind-state. He will get swarmed and can't seem to find his way out of the traps and to compound the issue his lack of height adds on to this problem.

Aaron's mentality is score score score. He doesn't have a thinking of setting up anyone else but himself. He is a black hole and we had to of them at guard last night he and ron and this was a big reason Yao couldn't get the rock in the second half.

Aaron is a role player he's a guy to give you instant offense off the bench when your regular offense is being denied. For aaron and the rockets to be effective you have to sub him in and out. To the start the game I would start with kyle just to establish an identity of how we want to play. When you need an offensive spark you play aaron when you defense you have to get aaron out the game as quickly as you can and put kyle in.

You don't in any way give aaron the reigns to the team simply because he doesn't have the skill set to give you that leadership. You combined kyle and aaron skills together and make them one whole instead of two halfs.

Also I would use brent in crunch time sitautions because of his experience. A few mistakes doesn't over shadow the experience brent can give us in big shot making and post entry passing.

On balance, he hasn't played since becoming the full-time starter. I'm not calling for him to be benched or anything, but he has to be a more consistent and efficient scorer for us. Being a scorer is his one above average skill, so we can't have him being mediocre at it.

Huh? Weren't you the one that started counting Rox win-loss record since Brooks' 5th or 6th game as a starter? Talk about overreact...

I have seen 4+ years of crappy PG play from Rafer, I am DESPERATE to try anything else.

AB is getting his chance, if he doesn't take advantage he will be back on the bench too.

But he is a 2nd year player who has a great chance to get better......let's ROOT for that to happen.

Brooks may be fast but he is just too small. Bigger guards will just own him.

Why are some of you already looking to can Brooks?

Let the guy learn. He'll be better because of the Chicago experience. Better he learn now to play on the road than when the playoffs start.

As a Rockets fan, it's great to have young point guards on this team that know how to attack the rim. It's something we havent had in a long time.

The cure to inexperience is experience.

There was no cure for Rafer.
