Yeah I'm actually not following anymore. He injured himself during training camp, and thus he looked out of shape in pre-season. RA and Morey commented on Lowry's fitness after that. So Lowry is out of shape because he was injured? I thought that was the general consensus.
I believe they played a couple of preseason games before him being injured, and the belly probably contributed to the back injury, and then he sat out a couple and tried to come back early still injured....and he looked fat. DD
Perchance, could this "old crap" be the innumerable now disproved and failed arguments that you have disseminated all across Clutchfans like a giant ever watchful nighthawk soaring over the heavens as it releases its excrements all across the lands. Is that the "old crap" that you'd rather not unearth?
i hope OP is a troll because i would hate to think that people are this stupid and ignorant. AB's ankle is obviously not healed enough to where he is confident in it. his game is based purely on speed and he can't perform with his ankle not 100%. also ankles are a huge part of shooting which is AB's forte.
Lowry injured himself in training camp, before the preseason started. On topic: can everyone get off AB's back? His injury is obviously still affecting him. Notice how Kmart has lost a lot of his quickness to the rim after tweaking his knee? Or how Lowry was struggling badly after his return?
Clearly the bigger emerging issue is the continued ineffectiveness of the Rocket's training/medical staff. Look, we all know Keith Jones has great Rockets history etc. But the way the Yao situation has been handled these past 5 years along with the way other Rockets injuries have been dealt with is very troublesome. Yeah, it is easy to be a fan and criticize medical professionals who spent a crapload to become educated in the practice, but at some point there has to be some accountability. It is quite evident that AB is NOT ready to be playing yet.
Kyle Lowry was not in any kind of shape to where the Rockets were worried when he reported to training camp. During training camp, and before the preseason, he injured his knee in a collision with Jermaine Taylor. Due to this injury, he was out most of the preseason and was unable to get into game shape in time for the regular season. Once the regular season began, he started to have back spasms and was in and out of the lineup -- further hurting his condition. This summer, I remember multiple tweets from the guy who runs DraftExpress talking about how good Lowry looked in the summer games and how hard he was working. Clearly, his shooting percentages show the hard work he put in.
I really hope his playing like this due to his ankle injury and not because of his attitude toward Morey...
Title?!? Geez, after tmac and Yao you'd think posters would be more careful... and AB probably did party too much AND is still having ankle soreness....we'll see once they get out of the area..
Lowry was reported to be out of shape when he reported to camp "Lowry, a 6-0 guard, was not in shape when he reported for the start of camp" They were not overly concerned, but come on, you guys need to at least acknowledge the truth. DD
for the first time, I'm finally starting to listen to this idea and wonder about the Rocket's training staff. What big success can we point to over the last 8-10 years? Maybe it's bad luck, but even fairly routine issues seem to set our players back longer than the same issues do for players on other teams.
He bruised his knee in training camp, which required him to sit out some practices. I don't remember which preseason games he played or didn't play, but the back injury could just as easily have been caused by him trying to play on a bad knee. Lowry's never been a slim guy, even now he looks a bit chunky, but I don't remember anyone with the Rockets saying that his preseason injury problems were caused by him being fat.
Isnt that kind of r****ded if you dont give all you have in a contract year? AB isnt 100%, don't be ridiculous.
Please be patient with guys coming off injuries. AB has to get minutes to get into game shape and to fully recover, especially mentally. Of course he is bitterly disappointed in not getting a contract, but to say his lack of aggressiveness is due to his anger at management is ludicrous. For some people, maybe, but unlikely in a contract year and certainly not someone of AB's character. And speculative innuendos about partying and being high in Portland, unless backed by evidence, is downright irresponsible.
It is all relative that is true, he was not like....UBER fat, just noticably thicker than usual.....and a lot of us noticed..... DD
