Not sure about the GARM, but if you're done posting in this thread, then this thread is clearly improved.
You want the last word? Of course you do, there is no way you can stop.......come on....I am pulling the strings....post something else.... DD
He might not have much of a choice in the matter. According to this article, David Stern wants to see player salaries cut by approximately 1/3rd in the next CBA. "Stern said the league wants player costs to drop $750-800 million. Deputy commissioner Adam Silver said the NBA spends about $2.1 billion annually in player salaries and benefits. "We would like to get profitable, have a return on investment," Stern said. "There's a swing of somewhere in the neighborhood of $750 to $800 million that we would like to change. That's our story and we're sticking with it."" According to these numbers, the Mid-Level Exception would drop from approximately $5.72 million/year to $3.54 million/year, if the new CBA doesn't change how 'average salaries' are calculated. So, if Aaron Brooks is worth approximately $9 million with today's CBA, Aaron Brooks' salary under the new CBA, if things turn out according to Stern's wishes, should be approximately $5.5 million/year, ceteris paribus -- just about the same as today's Mid-Level Exception.
This won't happen, players won't go for this. I can see the MAX deals coming down but if this happens then forget about the MLE, LLE..etc. The owners where crying doomsday about this time last year, saying that the new salary cap was going to be in the low 50's and it ended up much higher.
Just make it an incentive laden deal based on successful passes to the low post.... It will end up being about $4 mil. a year
It probably wont happen. I'm just saying that, if David Stern gets his way, that would be a good forecast of what a player like Aaron Brooks might be worth.
Take away money for turn overs. having 10 assist would be great but not if they come at a 1/2 assist/TO Ratio.
brooks just needs to learn how to be a point guard! he needs to learn how to facilitate for others, especially in the 4th quarter in crunch time, put steve nash or cp3 on this team and youll see that they know what to do with a 7'6 center and the rest of the talent we have. he needs to learn or otherwise we dont need him i dont care how good he is.
Mike Conley just got a 5 yr 45 million dollar contract extension and we can safely assume AB is better....AB isn't making less than 9 million next year.
Crap, this will have us tied to at least 69 million dollars at the PG position, assuming Brooks gets 9 mill. Brooks is a goner now, unless he's willing to take a paycut. He's gonna be pissed if he gets anything less than Conley.
He might be, but I think the more likely scenario is that they trade Lowry and put Ish Smith in as backup when he is ready. Right Assid? DD
