I don't mind people with unconventional views, even if they result from a bitter, cynical view of the world outside their comfort zone. But like making love, there is a right and a wrong way to make a point. And basso is the epitomy of someone who screams just to be heard. Of someone who talks just to be noticed. Of the slutty teenage girl who drunk dials her crush just to enjoy the thought she is going to be taking up his time. Even more disturbing behind basso's lack of substance are the few posters who consider the garbage he copies and pastes from his cult websites (no doubt sponsored by cialis) as "thought provoking". Not original, not interesting, never proves a point, and constantly throws up fluff to seem relevant. And yet, the internet seems drawn to him. Drawn to the idea of preaching logic to a girl at her sweet sixteen or trying to reform a 60 year old crook. Like a mosquito that's drawn to a nagging blue light. Very interesting from a purely psychological stand point.
By definition, conservatives do not have unconventional views. Plus your juvenile attempts at dissing basso prove the demonstration that when you point the finger at someone.... there are three pointing right back at YOU.
thanks giddy. as an aside, i would just note (again) that I am not a conservative, unless of course it's conservative to love your country and family, and want to kill the folks who want to kill us. ...and not live beyond our means. otherwise, i'm damned near the most liberal (in the classical sense) member of this board.
Your sin is stepping on toes which used to be an esteemed duty in this country. Of course it's only "allowed" to step on certain people's toes.... that is your big mistake... but only in this den of iniquity called the D&D. Maybe a new political party is in order: U.P. (Unsatisfied Party)
I'm sure the female spouses of many a male conservative politician caught with his pants down and tapping his foot in a bathroom stall would be the first to sign up. (I resisted the urge to make this a post directed at anyone here)
For someone who proclaims to love their country you support much which is harmful for the nation and goes against the principles it was founded on. I guess that goes in line with someone who proclaims to be in favor of gay marriage but believes that a President who supports an amendment to our nation's constitution permanently banning it from every state in the union is the same on that issue as a President who is opposed to such an amendment.
more anniversary fun from TPM. <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MQiNPfyunUc&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MQiNPfyunUc&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>
^ way to use projected data from "innocent bystanders.net" - why not use actual historical data from third party forecasters?: Oh because you are trying to distort, cause that's the thread title? Is that it? Please explain. Thanks en avance.
They produced the chart, not the data... The data comes from the CBO and Dept. of Labor, the projections from the Obama economic team.
Actually no, the chart was made end 2009 so data up to that point was real. Your chart actually only indicates that Treasury Department under-predicted the Unemployment rate... ... so what? That doesn't have any bearing on the impact of policies, just proves that the severity of the recession (which, btw, your side was arguing against[/b) was underestimated, and if anything that it commandes even more gov't intervention.
....which is why even conservative economists conceded that a fiscal stimulus was and is necessary, rather than the self-mutilating course of a spending cut.
Am still interested in the over/under here on 230. He's currently on pace to hit this target (today's thread title is truly a beaut; I can only hope the thread explores what Obama thinks about gay terrorists), and I'd really say it's a push. Thoughts? I'll take the over.
