Yeah your conclusions about the CBA fortified my earlier thoughts, which were that the CBA exists only so that the league can be protected from MOREY. He would absolutely wreck shop with all these dumb-as-doorknob GM's throwing cash around like their manhood depended on it.

Morey's that one card player that never lets his testosterone get the better of him. No bad contracts, no compromising with free agents just to prove to fans and opposing GM's that he's got cojones. Let's hope that when the CBA is changed there will be less of a barrier for Morey to take advantage of his peers.

    Morey's wet dream CBA.

    1. Hard cap
    2. No contract ceilings(max players, rookie ceilings, etc.)
    3. No other rules except Rule 1 and 2.

They may change who gets a bigger piece of the pie, but no way no how will ticket prices be going down. That's just a cold hard fact.

All I Know is if the NBA goes into a lockout it will hurt them. Not like hockey but they will take a hit. They Do share about half a season with the NFL. Which is America's number one sport. Which also thinking about expanding their season to eighteen games. Which would only suck into the market more.
Mark Cuban among other sport owner have already complained of the NFl scheduling of things and sucking the fans up.
What If there was a lockout. That would be the perfect opportunity for NFl to expand and suck up some more of the market. Besides it only makes since seeing as a longer later season would not only bring more money, but would also expand the areas they could play the Super Bowl. Can you Imagine what it would do to the NBA if the Super Bowl was in Late February early March. Because let's face it the NBA is an after thought during the NFL season.
Not for me but for the media and many many others it is.
They already took a big hit last time they had a lockout which was only just a decade ago. The NBA was just recovering from that. If it does happen and probably will hopefully it will be the end of Stern.
Personally I think the max contracts does need to change. The money saved would hopefully trickle down to cheaper tickets and better league parody. Which would benefit the fans and the league.
