I'd probably pull the trigger on this one, but I highly doubt Miami would go for it. Yao is good and all, but he's been ticking me off a bit because of his injury-proneness these past few years.
Obviously this is a bogus trade idea, you need someone in the post but lets not act like Yao would have been the answer against the Suns, they would have just took shaq out and run him ragged. I think Yao is a really good player, one of if not the best big man offensively but his lack of atheleticism really holds him back from being perfect. I wonder where people on this board would rank him all time. Its weird but I think Yao might be the better player but I think Tmac ranks higher amongst all time SG's than Yao does amongst all time centers.

uh huh and the Pacers with Rik Smits got how far? Oh yeah a hair's breathe away from the Eastern Conference finals losing just barely to Michael Jordan's Bulls. I don't want to ever hear how Yao sucks and can't lead his team to a championship. If the Pacers with Smits can get as far as they did and all they had was Miller, Antonio Davis, Del Davis and Travis Best then we sure as heck can make some noise. People seem to think winning a championship is easy. It's not. There are 28 other teams trying to do the same thing and you can't name one championship calibur team without a dominante big man in recent history except the Chicago Bulls. Even they had a servicable big man to clog up the paint with Luc Longly. Shawn Marion doesn't score as much as Yao. Marion cannot be the dominant defensive presence in the paint. Yao alters shots. Marion not so much. Marion is a crybaby who is a ball stopper. Marion can get some rebounds and he can score but so what that's on a completely useless Miami squad. You want to see how well Marion would do on the Rockets? All you have to do is look at his Suns stats in 07 and his Miami stats in 08. This is a player clearly in decline. Basically this is how incredibly stupid this proposed trade is. He wants to replace Yao who is putting up 22 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 2.3 assists and 2.0 bpg with a shorter guy listed at 6'7" who is not even a center but a power forward putting up 14.3 ppg 11.2 rpg 2.5 assists and 0.9 bpg Please call me when you get some new brain cells Dr. I don't know basketball if it hit me in the face!
