you are ruining your own thread

stand up for yourself .....im asking fair questions .......im asking how a player, who is foul prone to begin with, benefits from a game that is being refereed tighter than normal ........

i just dont buy your theory that he will only benefit from throwing elbows and taunting people since refs, and the NBA in general, tend to come down hard on these type of folks ......and i don't buy that this will only benefit him on offense, and only in his favor .....especially since the refs would see him as the agressor

i mean, does the NBA not come down hard on that sort of things?

if you can admit they do, they you have to naturally conclude that your suggestions will hurt Yao more than help him

Yes. I have been saying this for a long time. Yao invites much of the abuse he gets. He's got to let the league know that he won't stand for dirty plays.

A few people here kept saying Yao needs to grow a pair of hairy ones, Yao is a dickless wimp etc........

You know what, Yao is one of the few things that are right with the NBA where THUGS and GOONS roaming at will. Yao plays the game the right way, he's totally unselfish, he's a gentle giant, he's respectful towards everyone including the Aholes and haters who ragged on him.

When Yao first came into the league, he was like a breath of fresh air, totally unique. This is my personal opinion, but the NBA has been quite unwatchable for sometimes and part of it is that thug mentally .

Yao plays the game the right way and he's being punished for that. Well,if you called a person a dickless wimp and he needs to grow a pair when he's doing it the right way than go ahead and have your fills.

Sometimes it takes more courage to walk away, others need to learn this from Yao. May be when the NBA is hammered hard by fans staying away from games, when they start to lose more attendance and revenues like what is going on now through out the league, may be Stern and his people will finally get their sh*t together& put out real professional basketball instead of the current WWE version.

I'd rather see Yao be himself and plays the game the right way
and teaches everyone a lesson in humility, lord knows we can all use it!

Yao needs to learn to shoot a jumper like Brad Miller.

I know what's wrong with the Rockets. If they heed my advice, they will do better. That much is true.

You are right. However, I don't know if a nice Yao can dominate like we all want him to.

You know, it is possible to play the 'right way' AND also be aggressive at the same time. Just look at Tim Duncan. You can say he's unselfish, a gentle giant, and respectful towards everyone - just like how Yao is. The only difference is that he is 10 times more aggressive.

But we all know the moment Yao gets aggressive, The God D**n freaking refs promtply send his butt to the bench. I know this for a fact, when I'm watching Yao plays, I'm watching basketball, can't say the same thing about a lot of other players.

You are absolutly correct. However, for different reasons, some players and some refs do not respect Yao. It makes it tough for Yao to be aggressive when he's playing with 4 fouls, or when people is hacking away at his back/head/arms without getting penalized. That is one of the reasons I started this thread, I feel my suggestion will force the refs to call a more fair game.

I hope in near future, hopefully by next year, Yao will get the respect and the calls. Right now, it's very frustrating to watch him treated like a rookie every other game, especially when it costs us games like many times this season.

Timmy got the calls when he's aggresive. Yao tries a power move, boom, somebody flops and Yao is stick with an offensive foul.

    EXACTLY

I'm not saying Yao has to be something he isnt, however, he is a frigging professional athlete, and I think part of doing the job he is being paid millions to do, and do it well, means he needs to be a bit more assertive and agressive "on the court". Its not like anyone is saying they want him to play dirty and be hatefull or anything like that, you can stand up for yourself and assert some force without being a thug.

Actually, it is. Its the subject of this thread, courtesy of Clove, who also wants Yao to cry racism now.

    Codell,

you have already won the argument.

What you are doing now is pretty classless.

    I beg your pardon?

You have a) suggested Yao play dirty and b) suggested Yao cry racism (even if it doesn't actually exist) to gain an upper hand on the officials, have you not?

You call me classless for pointing out what you said, yet, what you have suggested isn't classless in itself? lol

You just don't get it. Some people feel more manly by saying another man is dickless. They need to do that to boost their own self confidence. Give them a break!

    Codell,

You are right. It was very classless of me.

Would it be too much to ask for you not to use "clove" in any more of your posts? I'll do the same. I won't mention "Codell" again. Thanks.

    Thanks.

codell and SamFisher just don't seem to like Yao Ming very much. They also seem to like to try to attack what they perceive as "Yao only fans", even though these people might not be "Yao only fans".

oh come on SJC ...this is weak

i don't like Yao because a) I don't want him to resort to dirty tactics and b) Don't want him to make false racism claims to gain an upper hand in an NBA game?

    weak indeed

and btw, i don't think Clove is a Yao only fan, just misguided in his theories on how Yao can become a succesful NBA player

you make too many assumptions about people you know nothing about
