dont forget Oliver, who should be back in a week or so. anything is an upgrade over our "old" bullpen
I hope the bandwagon doesnt get too full soon...I STILL THINK IT'S LIKE SINFIELD BIZARRO WORLD with all the winning going on..
You know what is happening guys don't you? The Astros were not satisfied with disappointing Houston fans just once. They want to set us up to be disappointed again. Don't be a sucker and fall for this.
I think that the Giants and Padres are going to fade. They'll play the Dogers and against each other toward the end of the season. The real competition of the WC will be between the Astros, Cubs, and Marlins. The Cubs may have the edge down the stretch due to their relatively easy schedule but the Astros do have a legit shot. However, I think that the Marlins will win it.
While I think the Marlins have some excellent pitching, I don't think they can sustain the kind of pitching they have been getting during this hot streak. The Astros, on the other hand, have been getting both good hitting and decent-good pitching. I think it will be easier for them to remain strong for the rest of the season. Ultimately, it comes down to the Cubs. They will have to falter for anything to happen. Since it's the Cubs, I would say that is a high possibility, but they may decide to wait until the postseaosn to break all their fans hearts, just like last year. Personally, I would be happy if we could simply finish ahead of the Cubs in the standings, since I made a bet with a buddy at the beginning of the season on who would finish higher.
I did, too, with a big Cubs fan. It was a $30 bet, and I paid it prematurely because the 'Stros were back by around 8 games at the time. Nice to see I could be getting my $30 and the $30 from him back.
Reminds me of a joke... "A politician is the kind of person that can take $20 from you, give back $10, and claim you both lost $10." I still believe by the way. Go 'Stros!
