What if Lebron has Houston as a Possible Destination ?

If Lebron tells Cleveland I'm not coming back, get what you can for me so sign and trade me. The only places I'm wiling to go are New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Dallas or Houston.. What would Cleveland ask from those teams and what teams can offer the best package ?

Please elaborate aspiring GMs, you can throw other destinatios in there if you like but I only see those 5 cities..

I think the Rockets could work some real magic on this one. The Nets do have a top pick to offer. I don't see Wade and Lebron coexisting just like I don't see Rose and Lebron playing together in Chicago either. New York is a good Possibility if they also lure Bosh or Amare.

People just need to calm down, and that goes double for ESPN. It truly is amazing that one guy has the entire NBA fan base in such a tizzy, especially since he hasn't won a championship.

Honestly, I'm much more interested in what will happen to Kevin Durant in a couple of years.

Honestly people need to take their expectations down a notch so they will be excited about the changes in the off season instead of disappointed.

Expect the rockets to roll out with a solid playoff contending team next year and any off season acquisitions this summer will be icing on the cake. People seem to forget their number 1 priority at the moment is probably Scola and Lowrey. :p

Lebron is probably not coming to H-town but I do expect Morey to at least make a call. Saying that, 95% of the focus should be on getting Bosh or whoever they have focused their attention on, doorstep at midnight type attention.

Durant is a different kind of superstar; he will be back with the Thunder and continue to be a star in this league. Players like Kobe and Lebron are unique talents and don't come around that often. We'll wait and see Durant's development but I don't anticipate him reaching those levels.

LeBron coming to Houston is hilarious. We are not on his radar, we are not on the cavs radar, we are not in the hunt. Morey is good, but not that good. Overall, I don't know when reality will hit some clutchfans, but when it does it's gonna hurt.

Heck, even getting Bosh is a task in itself. There is a very good chance we don't even get Bosh. When was the most recent sign and trade of a big name player? It hasn't happened in a while, and even when it does, it does not payoff nearly as often as we would like it to. The best way to improve this team is to keep it healthy, and work on defense. We do not need any other players to win a ring.

Wait what?? Starting a bunch of threads about someone doesn't guarantee that they're coming?

Yours is not a popular opinion, but I definitely repped it.

How can you say that he can't reach the level of Kobe/Lebron.
If he hasn't reached that level yet he is right under them.
He's been in the league for three years and already has carried his team to the playoffs and become the youngest scoring champion ever.

The guy could go down as one of the greatest.

To stay healthy you need Yao out of this team; that's not happening.
To play defense you need a new head coach; that's not happening either.
Les Alexander wants to win and he'll do whatever it takes to win except trading Yao unless Cleveland wants him.
For you to say that we do not need any other players to win a ring is flat out crazy, you must be a spurs or jazz fan or you're delivering your pizza in the wrong town.

Known of us really know where he wants to go, so speculating on what Lebron wants to do is an exercise in futility, don't be deceived by the fun ESPN "experts" will have with this. I think the OP's point is a more valid contention, if these are the teams Lebron is willing to play for, who can offer what. This is something we can actually look up and discuss. We know the big guns (Wade, Bosh, Lebron) and their respective teams have an incentive to work out a sign and trade (granted they want to leave), more money and years for them and the teams don't get stuck with nothing. Most marquee free agents leave via SnT. This, I believe also makes it difficult for a team to land two of the 3 guys. If the Rockets are somehow in that top few teams these players are willing to play for, and these players are willing to work with their teams in a SnT, I believe the Rockets have as good a shot as any. A package centering Martin, Hill, and multiple draft picks has to be a pretty competitive start. Also, because of our collection of assets, we could potentially work out two sign and trades, probably not for two of these guys though.
So what do other teams have to offer, everything else being equal (no income tax this and Jordan that)?

I almost can ensure you Lebron will not go west.
Alrite, lets look at the bigger picture. In the west, you will always have Lakers, and there are Suns, Spurs, Mavs, Jazz, who may diminish away from championship contender, but will always give you a hard fight. AND, there are uprising teams like OKC, Portland, and Houston. But in the east, there is pretty much just Orlando that Lebron will need to worry about, because Boston won't last long, other teams are just not there yet.
Let's face it, this is not just a decision that Lebron needs to make, alot ppl's life welfare is at stake. These are businessmen who is making a living on the hypes of "King James", do you think those ppl will let Lebron go into the uncertainty of the Western Conference? Even though any team Lebron goes is an instant contender, would you let him go west and face 7 other contenders or would you let him stay in east and face just one?
And I don't consider NY and NJ as rebuilding mode, because they have positioned themselves for this summer so long now. With that much cap space and that many talents on the market, they can add enough talent to their team and not be consider as in rebuilding mode talent-wise; and for team chemistry-wise, any team that added Lebron is in a rebuilding mode.

So, therefore my list of possible destination for LBJ goes as NY> NJ> Cleavland, and as Chicago as a darkhorse.

I just love when people say things that show they clearly have no idea what they are talking about!

You may think that Rick Adelman can't coach defense, but reality strongly disagrees. The 2009 Rockets were ranked 4th out of 30 teams in the league in defense, the year after he coached the Rockets' 2nd ranked defense.

A carryover from the Jeff Van Gundy days you say? Did Van Gundy coach the Kings before Adelman, too? Because those teams were very good defensively. In fact here are their rankings over a four-year stretch:

    2003 Kings: 2/29
    2002 Kings: 6/29
    2001 Kings: 7/29
    2000 Kings: 10/29

And in case you still don't believe Adelman can coach a good defensive team, let's go all the way back to his Blazers days and see how that team rated defensively:

    1993 Blazers: 4/27
    1992 Blazers: 3/27
    1991 Blazers: 3/27
    1990 Blazers: 4/27

That's 10 times in his career he has had a top 10 defensive team and seven times he has coached a top 5 defensive team.

One, this team plays stellar defense when Yao is in. Two, keeping Yao healthy is not impossible. If Shaq still played at the level he did in PHX, Yao can come back with avengence. There is justice for Rockets fans, it will come soon.

Look at the playoffs this year, why are you not outraged? Why isn't every clutchfan outraged? The teams who are winning suck, we are better than they are when Yao is in. This WAS our year. Next year will be a rebuild year for all the teams that lost this year. If we can keep Yao up till the playoffs, we are set. It can be done. I believe.

Maybe I'm not the one that isn't a Rockets fan, maybe you are.

I dont see why he would go to new york?
You have New Jersey not in contending with him I disagree.
Devin Harris, Brook Lopez 2 players that can compete at their postion every night. Role players courtney lee good player at 6'5 was doing his thing as a rookie in Orlando, Terrence Williams is mini lebron that has size and athleticism to be a beast on defense, Yi Jianlian has shown signs of great things and I feel the confidence Lebron brings to a team can do wonders for a player like him. CDR another long atheltic wing that is a nice asset. Add Lebron to that roster another with their draft pick and another free agent player and thats a contende IMO just because lebron makes any team a 50 win team but that type of talent in the playoffs is better suited than the cavs.

You have to understand 'true' Rocket fans have no faith in Yao, have no faith in the team to win next year.
