Is it me or does Hopkins have better jump ball ability than Johnson? Johnson has amazing ability to find soft spots in defenses, but Hopkins seems to win the jump balls. Makes Hopkins a better redzone target.
He made some major rookie mistakes today, but those playmaking skills can't be taught. When he really learns this system look out.
In the presser Hopkins just said "I feel like I can be better than Andre. Andre tells me "don't try to be like me. be better than me." Awesome.
When I was driving home after the game listening to Kubiak's presser on the radio, I think he said it was Schaub's fault.
To all those people thinking Schaub's pick-6 was on Hopkins, it simply was night. Kubiak himself stated in the post game interviews that Schaub misread the coverage and was clearly in the wrong on that play. Said Hopkins ran correct route. And of any other mistakes, I didn't see any. He either caught the targets or was over thrown. The dude balled and should continue to do so.
Really proud of Hopkins today. Shook off running a bad route (combined w/ a bad Schaub read) and had a hell of a game.
I'll be honest. While I liked the talent overall, I thought this year would be a developmental year for Hopkins. That it was kind of a wasted pick in terms of we're trying to win now and not 3 years later. But he has definitely proven me wrong.
Ex bengal, T.j, has him as his rookie of the year. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap2000000246508/Most-impressive-rookie Nuk is all over the nfl.com page.
Just wait until he gets comfortable with the system. Just wait until his rookie jitters settle down. He's going to be terrifying.
