does anyone really think he wouldnt have got to 600 without roids? It may have been in another year or so, but he would have got there

    intersting stat about A-ROD
NOT counting his 1st 2 years, he avg. 41.7 HR per year up into 2005, the year MLB started testing. NOT counting this year (since its not over yet) he avg. 40.4 HR per year. Thata a BIIIIIIG difference. (sarcasm)

Just like Barry, it dont matter about the roids, they were both GREAT players.

The fact is you just don't know what would have happened to his career without the roids. Maybe he tries to come back early from a nagging injury (which he was able to do better with the roids than without) and creates a bigger injury. Maybe he's "bought" himself some years of avoiding age decline with the years of roid usage.

You just don't know. All I know is he cheated.

The easier argument to me, for those not to concerned about the roid usage, is that just as high a % of pitchers were probably taking them as hitters. So it is, in that sense, still potentially "fair" relative to other eras where all players weren't on roids.

It's still cheating, though, to me. And voting known cheaters to the HOF, or being super excited about them breaking records, etc. condones cheating.

I assume if A-Rod was seriously corking for a 3 year period that would be okay, too...because he is just naturally talented anyway? No, of course not...it would be a sad display of cheating.

    And?

    Never happen.

I just find it funny that people are so up at arms about the roids. When did that happen? NFL has had roid problem for decades. The NBA had a problem with rec. drugs. But man people really took issue with MLB and roids. Why are we treating these gus any differnt than anyone else that cheated. Like he said guys are in the Hall of Fame and no one said a word.

And let me add another thing.

Rodriguez SHOULD NOT have been caught.

Those tests he took SHOULD NOT have been given out to public.

They were supposed to private and thrown away right after he took them.
