I couldn't handle Yao being a Rocket for life...the past few years have been stressful enough, cant imagine 5+ more years of him going down when it counts in the season.
If you even mention T-Mac in an OP, Tracy haters 1-star it. They act like there are TOF's running around Clutch Fans. I think it's a safe bet that if there was such a thing as Tracy only fans, they are all gone by now.
What has he won as a professional player that leads you to make such a strong statement? Was it all those playoff games in Memphis or something else?
The term "winner" is not to be taken literally. It refers to the attitude that certain people have, people who usually are the winners not just in bball games but in life in general. Just as you can be a loser even if you have a ring (see Adam Morrison), you can also have a winner mentality in bball games even if you hadn't won a championship yet. As for what Battier has actually won, he is paid millions to play a kid's game, has a hot wife, won a college championship in a respected university and is regarded as one of the top roleplayers in the NBA. I'd say that makes him a winner, wouldn't you?
Huh? Hakeem retired as a Houston Rocket after playing his last NBA game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on April 17, 2001. He helped the Rockets get a 114-87 win by dropping 24 pts, 9 rbs, 6 ast, 2 blks, and 1 stl in 28 minutes of play. Long live the Dream!
Lol...First you say the term winner is not to be taken literally and imply that Battier is still a winner even though he hasn't won a championship, but then you turn right around and highlight a college title he won at Duke as proof that he's a winner. Haha, only Battier supporters can employ this type of circular logic. I don't care about the guy's personal life. I focus on what happens on the court and the fact still remains that Battier has had hardly any individual achievements as a pro or been a part of teams that have had high degrees of success in the post-season. Thus, the title winner doesn't seem appropriate and neither does the honor of being a Rocket for life.
That doesn't really have anything to do with it. The OP asked who we'd hope stays a Rocket. Hayes is my favorite not because he's better. But because he plays hard, he's unselfish, he's able to overcome his limitations despite constantly being doubted, he's very smart. He's the type of player that sets a great example for others. He's just the type of player I root for and who'll add value to the team as a whole. Plus, he'll never demand big money in the market, so there's no good reason not to keep him.
Elie, Smith, and Horry weren't put into the situation that Hayes finds himself in, so comparing the players and what they contribute isn't so easy. But how can you not root for Chuck Hayes to stay on this team? Who knew that any of us would be saying this, but at 6'6", he's managing to D the big guys really well. The outlet pass for the break. He's even---GASP!---scoring the ball. Shane? I don't want to see him go right now, but retire a Rocket? Don't think it'll happen anyway. Another thing: if the right deal came along, I think Scola or Landry or even Brooks could be an add-on to McGrady for a trade.
he ended it with the toronto raptors, and he even said he wanted to finish his career their, dont know why , but still hes a rocket forever, anyways, to the question at hand... wow its hard to pick one or two , i like them all, loving this team.. but to answer the question ill go with aaron brooks and luis scola , so hard to pick though
