I'd grab any coach that would do the job the cheapest. As in Mike Woodson to Larry Drew shift down --- from 4 million to 1 million...and spend the cash on draft picks
whoa....cant believe some of u are suggesting larry brown........hes the BEST coach in-game......but he KILLS rookies...he'd be the best coach for a contender...but the worst coach for a young team... larry brown is a legend, but he needs talent better than this to work with
Hey, Schwarzenegger is looking for work! Larry Brown, eh? I think senility has already started to creep in with him. He didn't seem to have all his marbles when he was with NY or Charlotte, and I think Detroit ran him out, too. I don't know that we need to lose RA, but I like the idea of pulling a Texans on him, and make him take a defensive coach. I don't buy that it's just the players. JVG would get some defense out of these same players.
I really can't wrap my head around those of you who would rather have Larry Brown than Rick Adelman. Most, if not all, of the complaints people have about Adelman are magnified by Brown. Doesn't play young guys, hamstrings his players in a tired system, strange rotation patterns, etc. etc... Not to mention the fact that the dude has been pretty much run out of every town he's ever coached in.
Lol, yeah Mr. loyal probably asked them if it was ok first. I can see why he'd play Miller more over an inconsistent Hill. I bet Martin was going through something and asked out... He definitely was no help at all that game. Rockets have an obvious hole at the center position... Whom ever is playing the best will probably get more minutes until am upgrade comes along.
larry is a much better defensive coach than rick. i think the rockets blackballed jvg a lil too early.
@thethirdman3 Not saying he's faultless, no one is, but def deserves benefit of doubt. W/ no Yao, AB, Chuck, how good is this team anyway? @thethirdman3 22-game streak year 1. 2nd round & Game 7 vs champs year 2. 42 wins w no Yao/Mac year 3. He's maxed out potential every time. @thethirdman3 Team game so everyone bears responsibility. But name me a coach who would've gotten more out of Rox than RA has last few years http://twitter.com/RocketsJCF (Jason Friedman)
Do not want Larry Brown. He would come in for a year or two, then would wear out his welcome, and then would do his little backstabbing things and leave.
Honestly, I don't think there's an available coach out there that's better than RA. IMHO, we should just stick with RA; Woodson only won all those games b/c he had lebron, and since we have a young team without much experience Larry Brown, if hired, wouldn't give our young guys a chance to mature into good/great players. Hill would be benched, PP sent back to the D-league, TWill never sees the light of day from the bench, and God knows what will happen to Ish. We should stick with RA, and ride out a few rough seasons with a team mired in mediocrity and hopefully once our young guys have developed, we'll be a contender once again
Not only that, but ruin a franchise like he did with the Knicks and Bobcats and criticizing his players to the media game after game JVG style. That's one of the reason why Gundy got let go by the way.
I don't like teams that don't put defense first. As a UH cougar I understand just how one can easily be swept away with with glamorous offensive output. It doesn't equate to success where it counts.
Adelman is a great coach. Honestly, I don't think any of other coaches could do better than him in current situation.
