I agree he hasn't had a full roster to work with.. But also agree he fails to atleast attempt to make in-game adjustments. Against the blazers, McMillan saw his team was making mistakes and called a timeout in the midst of a fastbreak... Adelman calls timeouts to get his scheduled subs in on time
Talk? What talk? A few demented grumblings here? Why anyone would want to replace a future Hall of Fame coach who has had the team over-producing while beset with injuries is a mystery to me. Go figure.
Well spoken, Thib benched Carlos Boozer because he kept getting abused on defense a few games ago, Phil played shannon brown 30 mins because the guy was in the zone. These are the the things that real coaches see and adjust too,
Well from what I've read on the thread alone there are tons of Rockets fans who could easily out coach Adelman. Hell, we've got a former basketball player saying he could do the job. A FORMER BASKETBALL PLAYER!!!
There won't be a better coach available than Adelman, so it would be absolutely foolish to let him go. If he decides to leave us to make one last push for a ring, then I will understand, but it will be a sad day.
That reminds me of when Adelman benched Martin for most of the 2nd half against Denver a couple of games ago and then played Miller for most of the 2nd half against Utah last night. Maybe he's a real coach after all! Thank God!
No you were the one boasting you played basketball, I was merely putting in a good word for you!! I hope you get the job!!!
I would like to see JVG come back when Adelman steps down eventually. I think JVG could do wonders with Morey at the GM spot. I think Calipari would be cool as well.
Im not applying for the job, honestly i wouldnt even want it, Id rather be a practice coach or a spectator, I would def take Bill Worell's place, its about time for him to call it quits. By the way, are you Bill? But anyways, i "boasted" that i was a player to let you know that some people on this board do actually know basketball and have actually ran a constructed offense, not just shoot arounds or games of 21 in the backyard.A coaches skill level is very similar to a players skill level. They all have layers. Kevin Martin is a very good player, Great offensive player, not the best passer, not the best defender or rebounder Luis Scola is a very good player, Good Offensively, Good Rebounder, Very Smart, not the most athletic, not the greatest defender Rick Adleman is a very good coach, Great offensively, Has one of the best offensive schemes in the NBA, Smart Defensive not extraordinarily smart but smart, Not the best developer and not the best Strategical coach Everyone has their layers and RA weaknesses are the main reason why we are losing some of these games that we are supposed to win. Im not trying to argue with you or disrespect your knowledge of the game, just trying to open your mind up to different sides of the game that you cant see on FSN or league pass in your case. Remember we are all on the same team
And thats the truth well spoken RocFan were not saying can him right now, but he has shown NO reason why we should resign him after the season RA obvisouly is not/nor will ever be a superstar coach
I definitely disagree. If we're only judging by this season alone I don't see how anyone can rationalize Rick's done a great job so far. I'd give him props for installing the system and developing everyone's game, but his subs and roster decisions have cost us at least 5 games this season already. He's done a C+/B job this season, we could do better, and I'm sure he COULD do better, as this team is just not a good fit. I certainly hope he gets feds up and leaves to join another team, and we can bring in someone who knows who to put in at what time.
RA isn't exactly working with garbage here you know. The roster without Yao is borderline mediocre, and right now that's what the team is. I fail to see where the "overproduction" is happening. RA isn't dragging the team down, but neither is he lifting the team up much.
