So much better that you would give up Alston AND BJax? He might be better than Rafer but I think the Rockets would be better off using BJax's expiring on an additional player to add to the rotation. That way we are actually adding to our team instead of just a lateral move, Unless of course, you actually think he is that much greater than Rafer...

:D Mo Williams is that much better than Rafer :D

he is not that great on defense...jeez....he is good in a team concept D......which hinrich would be also......hinrich can play D and can shoot more consistent than rafer......period..........

    this is not rocket science

and i wouldnt neccessarily put rafe in a deal.....i would love for him to backup......he would be great at this ....since hes a glorified bench player as it is

besides the last thing that the bulls want to take back is 2 point guards from us.....so the bjax, rafer, second rounder would not get it done..........the last thing they need is more point guards

they will take bjax for the simple fact that his contract expires and he wont even sniff the floor next season.......

bjax, chuck hayes, second ronder= hinrich

get it done morey.....then we dont lose the beloved rafer alston who u guys are havin a love fest for....

him off the bench would be phenominal

Actully alot of people said Rafer is a good "defender" which is why I brought my point up.

thus Im saying Hinrich would actually be a better fit in Adelman's offense seeing he played on a team with 0% post presence

That won't work...Brooks is listed at 6'0" which means he's probably like 5'10", he's get destroyed on defense. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, he's got a lot of energy, but no size.

And one more thing...check out the stats for Hinrich and Rafer from last year:

FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG SPG TO PPG
    Hinrich .414 .350 .831 3.3 6.0 1.2 2.09 11.5
    Rafer .394 .351 .715 3.5 5.3 1.3 2.16 13.1

Other than FT%, where's the big improvement over Rafer? Hinrich gets more assists because of the system the Bulls run. They have younger guys all over the court that can run which leads to more fast break opportunities and more assists. We need a decent PG who can get the ball to Tracy and Yao and can hit the 3 a little more consistently than either of these two guys. My opinion: BJax & Rafer are too much to give up for someone who is at best slightly better than what we already have.

Rafer is a baller... Its not his fault we're not getting out of the first round.

Tracy and Yao must be healthy... If that happens, then with the squad we have, we'll be having a show down with Boston in the Finals.

Papaloukas should be available. If you have played nba live 08 featuring me ,then you will notice that his over all rate is 82,even higher than billups and deron. He is a guard with size, power, and shooting.his dribble and passing are also perfect.Just some money can take him from greece to houston, i don't understand why sir board is too mean to spend more money on our improvement, considering cuban's generosity.

Papaloukas is the answer to our PG problem.

ben gorden and kirk hinrich are a reality, and not a pipedream to be had for some of what we got......and we dont pull the trigger???????

we are delusional if we think this squad as is can get out of the west.......let alone a first round.............

screamin and typin for maggette and artest when they clearly are not coming here is asinine..........and a total waste of time and bandwith

like DD said a while back...."artest aint walkin thru that door people".....and at trade deadline hes not comin here over lakers or someone with a legit title shot...........so we need to get over that real quick.......

lets get real and make a real deal thats simple and easy.......

He's a tremendous play maker and passer with off the charts feel for the game but he is no longer a free agent. Who knows how we would adjust to the NBA but he's got the perfect point guard mind.

Last season was the worst season in Hinrich's career. Why don't you look at career averages, where Hinrich beats Alston in every statistical category? Including minutes played? Higher FG%, higher 3P%, higher FT%, more assists, more steals, more rebounds. Plus, he's bigger and arguably a better defensive player.

I can see making the case that Hinrich is expensive, but I don't see how anyone can make the case that Alston is a better point guard.

Actually, I think Kirk is better than Rafer and he's younger. But he's just a little bit better probably. And he is way overpaid. I don't think he's worth it at that money. The Rockets are suffering enough as it is with overpaying T-Mac.

Kirk is better than Rafer but I'm not sure about him at that huge salary he has. I'm not sure what the Rockets can do to help at PG, but I do disagree with everyone that keeps saying Rafer is enough to win a championship.

That's a pretty big gamble I think, because he's just about the most inconsistent and streakiest point guard around.

Who honestly thinks that a more experienced brooks and a healthy franchise are not all we really need ? We got a good ( hope ) backup center in Dorsey, and besides the rockets are used to rafer running the point. Bringing someone else to be the starting PG will more than likely mess up the chemistry they have worked hard to obtain.

Honestly, I just don't see us getting a high profile PG that makes Rafer the back-up. The guy I want for that role is Roger Mason. And I think we can get him for part of the MLE or even the whole LE.
