I think Avery would be a great coach for this team. I like the way he was calling out Dirk and other for playing soft in the playoffs. He's a defensive minded coach and a natural leader.

Don't blame the coach. Blame the players.

Under JVG - don't blame the coach. Don't blame the players. Blame the GM.

im not blaming the coach for anything. The questions i asked was just random thoughts and i just wanted to see what the rest of us had to say.

I believe RA is good for this team

Calvin Murphy is a certified dumb@ss; generally not a positive trait for a coach

Citing 33 seconds of Tracy under JVG's coaching doesn't really prove anything. It is not hard to see that Tracy had a lot more respect for JVG than he does Adelman. The same can be said for Yao. You can argue that Tracy can't do now what he could a few years ago but do you really think Tracy would have pulled the stunts (not rehabbing over the summer and quitting games or just pulling himself from the lineup from night to night) under JVG? I doubt it.

Haha, Avery Johnson is a joke, has no experience and no formation as coach.

Adelman is more prepared by far.

You're right JVG would have sat his butt down along time ago and stuck with the players that were winning games for us.

Oh come on....he never criticized Tmac...and only once sat him down, the GS game after the team had clinched Tmac was dogging it and JVG benched him citing some Bogus injury.

Then JVG took him aside and explained you only get one chance at greatness, you should take it, and TMac played hard from then on out.

JVG was a better motivator of Tmac, but he was not a disciplinarian OF Tmac...everyone else...yes...but not Tracy.

I think Avery would ware thin on his players...he's just always so high strung. He probably makes a better assistant coach used to help motivate when needed...but he needs a calming influence next to him to balance him out.

Calvin is probably just too emotional to do it. I think he'd have more knee-jerk reactions than the majority of clutchfans.
