chick hearn was one of the most unbiased pbp announcers I have ever heard. and not only that he was on of the nicest persons i have ever met. during the 94 season when i went to a laker-rocket game i went up to his press box and asked the security guard if i could go in real quick and say hi to chick and see if i could get his autograph. the guard said no but chick who happened to watch what was going on came over and told the guard that he should never do that again. he let me sit in his chair and signed my program and i told him i was a rocket fan and he said back to me "you guys have a heck of a player and person in Olajuwon"

for the people who had never had the pleasure of listening to chick i feel sorry for you. i would tune into games just to listen to him (and root against the lakers of course) but he made watching the game enjoyable.

the new guys are ridiculous and cant even hold a match to what chick was

Chick is the best for sure. Without Chick, it's just not good no matter who fills in. But I just wish the new duo could be less of homers than they are right now. I cant stand those guys esp Joel Myers. When Lakers makes basket, he will shout out in joy as if he just found 10 bucks on the street, biggest homer ever for the laker broadcasting, and he think he's smart too.

driving home from school today i tune into the sixers trashing the lakers and sure enough:

Joel myers: yeah houston is playing pretty well right now they may be able to climb up to get the sixth seed when its all over

and this is after they once again mentioned houston as a team that is somehow in the mix with denver and the lakers for the final 2 spots

gosh i feel like calling in tomorrow and opening a can on him, maybe able to get the sixth seed? we're sitting in the 6th seed 1/2 game behind for the 5th, maybe even 5th depending on how the game against the magic turns out tonight for sacramento.

after tonights loss i do believe la is a solid 6 games behind us now

i dont mind their opinions of the rockets they'll say we arent too good etc, but get your facts straight at least.

Lakers are 6 back of the Rockets with 19 games to go. Additionally they have alot of games left on the road and have a brutal April schedule. If anyone in LaLa land thinks their team can catch the Rockets...well they need to put the crack pipe down. Unless T-mac or Yao go down, they Lakers have no chance in hell of catching the Rockets.

Lakers should be more worried about just making the playoffs. half a game behind the Nuggets and tied with the Wolves. I bet Kobe wishes Shaq was still around.
