Ok this thread has degraded into the " I have a minority friend who..." Lock it, turn out the lights it is over. DD
Why should it be locked because of that??? Hey Timing do you know of a website where I can find percentages of ANY college? I would like to find the percentages of my school (Arkansas State University) and some other schools in and around Arkansas.
Just pointing out that the thread has lost some serious steam. Hey RM95, you don't like that..then don't read it. DaDakota
It's hard not to read it when you click on this thread because you find most of it (you're post obviously excluded) interesting. If you don't like what this thread as turned into, don't click on it. Don't whine to the administrators that it should be locked. Baby.
Or better yet, have something relevant to say on the topic other then "My dogs dentist's cousin has a black friend who went to JR High with the brother of her gardener" I don't expect the thread to be locked, it NEVER is....It is just a way of pointing out that a thread has lost some momentum. Don't be so sensitive, you BOOB !!!! DaDakota
Well I have only seen two posts in this thread which say something to that effect so it's too soon to say if the thread is going in that direction because Timing or Princess or somebody else may bust on to the scene with another one of their fact-laced, controversial posts. Then again let's not turn this into an argument over who said what and get back to the issue at hand...
This thread at one point amused me. If Timing and Princess keep going round in circles, they might eventually catch their own tails. Whatever anyone might say, racism still exists both in overt, and covert forms. Though we might disagree on how much impact it has, or how prevalent it is throughout society, it does exist, and ignoring it will not make it go away. However, there is one thing we can all agree one : Beauty knows no single race.
That article has a listing for about 1,400 different colleges so you should be able to find just about anything in there. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/alpha_dir/dir_a.htm Arkansas State University Undergraduate Enrollment Total full time: 7,343 Total part time: 1,946 Total men: 3,906 Total women: 5,383 Race/Ethnicity African-American: 13% Asian-American: 1% Hispanic: 1% Native American: N/A White: 84% International: 1% And I'll tell you what's controversial. Princess has yet to find any anything racist that's ever been posted on this board. She didn't find the A&M cartoon racist though she called it everything but, she didn't find the black history fried chicken sale racist, and now she's positive this statement by Pun's friend wasn't racist even though many people here find the statement inconclusive and would like more background before making that decision, including myself. I've never seen anyone argue in such an incredibly biased way against Census Bureau statistics, national rankings and stats from a prominent publication, and then actually attributing a state law for low minority enrollment when it's very creation was designed to boost minority enrollment. Then we have this constant use of racial generalizations like blacks just need to work harder. Whites have seven times the median net worth however blacks have equal opportunity to attend college according to her. It's friggin sickening. And more info... the list of African-American governors in US history. It's not a long list. 1. Pinckney Benton Stewart Pinchback (R) Louisiana Dec. 1872-Jan. 1873 2. L. Douglas Wilder (D) Virginia Jan. 1990-Jan. 1994 3. Charles W. Turnbull (D) Virgin Islands Jan. 1999-Present The list of African-American Senators in US history. Not too long either. Hiram R. Revels (R-Mississippi), 1870-71 Blanche K. Bruce (R-Mississippi), 1875-1881 Edward W. Brooke (R-Massachusetts), 1967-1979 Carol Moseley-Braun (D-Illinois), 1993-1999
I only find the white one at all sexy. The rest do nothing for me at all. Do you think that is sort of racist?
I'"M SURE THAT THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE, but when we have these monster threads that gradually change for example from sexual attraction & racism to eduation & racismfor example and the two deserve their own threads, can there be some mechanism for splitting them. Perhaps into Sort of RacistI I, Sort of Racist II, Sort of Racist III etc. Give the original poster the byline or whatever. It keeps the discussion more focused and doesn't drown out the voice of those who don't have the stamina or is it foolish obsession to try to follow the megathread to its ignominious concluuuuuuuuuuusion.
No doubt, Jeff. They are the only ones that are hot in my opinion. Some people even think that Alanis Morisette has worth, which is evidence that the world is very strange.
