Brooks will shoot immediately once the ball passed to him

Problem with AB's defense is that he's a step slow on rotation - he tends to try to help a bit too much inside.

What AB needs to learn how to do is use his quickness to close out before shots. The other thing that will help is if he plays the passing lanes a bit more and gets more steals. That will help a lot as well as keep him closer out on the perimeter to play better D.

Players can always back him down or shot over him, but you trade that for his quickness. He should be creating a lot more turnovers than he does.

This is the worst suggestion. Somehow, I don't like Brooks' style, he took 1/3 of the shooting chances with average FG%. Bad defense. Why him?

You don't actually think teams will double ish do you? He was readily open durring last nights game due to his inability to put the ball in the basket. Maybe you mean brooks and/or martin will be doubled. Either way, confusing your knowledge is

Got them to the NCAA finals. Villanova has gotten deep in the tournament with a 3 guard lineup.

Don't see it working for Houston though.

Teams won't be able to double anyone. They didn't double Brooks last year to take away his shot, the did it to take away his penetration.

If Ish becomes someone who creates problems with his penetration, they probably won't double - you are right, but then he has his way into the interior of the defense where they will double him.

The difference is that Ish is a much better passer than Brooks and will set up teammates for much higher percentage shots.

If you just had Ish in there, teams might start to double him to take that away.

We have to see more of Ish to get a sense of his skills.

Very true, I see what you are saying now. Not much double teaming for jump shooters but penetration into the interior does call for it and penetrate ish can. Hopefully he can start finishing at the rim and force the double. He has 4 - 6 wks to prove he can. Here's to hoping for the best
