    Per Cohen:

"And he has always filled a spot on the floor that no one else on the team is consistently hits from. He's made many teams pay for cheating off him, sometimes several consecutive trips down court."

OK - I get it - you are really Juwan. Tell me- were you guys mad at Weber for that botched -innappropriate Timeout he called at Michigan in the title game?

    This is very funny. :D

I do think that Juwan may have remnants of his injury that is affecting his shooting.

His touch will return. This guy can shoot the midrange open jumper. He didn't just forget how to shoot.

The ball dislikes Juwan's health. However, the ball seems to be finding his hands. The ball needs therapy.

    ok new guys

    are you paying attention?

rimbaud just showed you how to start a thread like this with a little humor.
makes it a lot easier to read even if you disagree cause he is witty about it.

that said..gotta agree that Im ok with a couple of shots a game from Juwan...but what I want most of him is what rimbaud pointed out....his much improved rebounding.

his couple of shots a game arent gonna kill us, and hell, he might even hit some of them.

Juan's midrange shooting is good and consistent, even better than TMAC's current one. If he is healthy, he can help this team with his open look shootings.

This thread shows a shallow understanding of the game of basketball. (or a poor attempt at humor) Juwan Howard is at the end of his career, but has had a great NBA career and is less than 500 points away from scoring 15,000 points for his career.

Juwan busts his *ss for the team and is a top-notch character guy. I am glad he is on our team and appreciate his effort...and he is a valuable player for us off the bench for 10-15 minutes this year.

Folks always seem to blame Juwan for others not being able to outplay him in practice and take his starting (and this year rotation) spot. That is their fault not Juwan's.

Kudos to Mr. Howard for his career accomplishments and continued dedication to the team.

Can't agree more. JH shoots 0-3 for last game, and that's much better than 1-7. Just 3 shoots a game, unless 3-3. That is the quota I would give. This would save me a lot of cardiac palpitation while watching Rox games. :)

A quota system may be a good solution....

I stand by my comment. When they're doubling Yao down low he often has a fairly reliable open shot from the top corner of the lane.

Juwan's shot is OK, even if he went 0 fer during the last 2 games.

Juwan and Tracy's shot, though, have as about as much curve as a 12-year-old anorexic girl.

This team did have more than that last year with David Wesley.. I hated him more than anything. Now JHo takes the throne and a certain Padgette close behind

I am way too stupid to be funny or to understand basketball, that is true.

R2k - Yeah, it is great. Not only are his rebounding numbersreally great for his minutes, he is getting some tough (contested or just hard for him to get to) ones that you wouldn't normally expect him to get.

I think the problem with his shooting has a lot to do with him not starting and not being in a good rythym. When he first got here and Mo T was starting Juwan struggled a bit as well. Once he started he got more consistent and produced pretty well. The problem this time around is that he should not be starting over Hayes. one hopes that with time he will better adjust and his shooting will improve. Right now, I am just happy that he is rebounding well.

Sometimes, I think JVG is trying to lose the game on purpose when he plays both Juwan and Deke at the same time. It's a deadly combindation.... :D

    Soft, very soft R2K

No shots for you at all Juwan, you come back 1 year and can shoot in the preseason

Agree with you on all counts.

I have tired of the relentless and mindless Juwan bashing but rimbaud "da vinci" has created the "Juwana Lisa" for all to admire.

I'm not sure why there are still people who defend Juwon's shooting. I can see why JVG put him in: familiarity with the system, don't make many mental mistakes, etc. But it certainly isn't to space the floor. There are several things to consider when looking at his shooting percentages.

    1. He doesn't get to the line, so he can't score in other ways.
    2. He doesn't shoot 3s that would prop up his true shooting %, not to mention spreading the floor for Yao.
    3. He doesn't draw the defender to create shots for others.
    4. He's a streaky shooter. It's one thing for T-Mac to be streaky considering all the things he brings to the table when on the court. But quite another when Juwon's doing it. If he can't make close to 50% of his mid-range jumpers, he shouldn't be taking them so damn much.
