    Thanks, Da_Spark.

I can somewhat tolerate the immature, knee-jerk, overreacting trash threads that have come to junk up the CF landscape. What I cannot stand is the level of disrespect some members, often new ones, have toward certain members who have made so many positive contributions to the board.

This board began with a sense of community and mutual respect that set it apart from other fan forums. It was unique. There was a culture here that we were all proud to be a part of. That culture is still here, but it sometimes gets buried in the noise of less-reasoned minds. I suppose it's something that comes with growth, but it's a shame it has to be this way. There are some great posters I don't see here anymore, and at least one of my favorite posters contributes very little now because he just gets fed up with the nonsense that sometimes follows when he shares information.

I really wish it were different.

As much as I love the OP's message, and I really do, like one of the next few who posted mentioned, I'm not sure what all it's going to do. Nothing is going to stop a person whose agenda is to defend one player and hate one player and one player only.

The only thing you can do...is either write back because it entertains you, or ignore the people that write with this kind of hatred, and write back to the people you respect, or make respectable comments.

But it's true Harden stunk it up. Fortunately we had a big enough lead and there wasn't enough time for him to lose the game like he did the game before.

Great post, as a diehard Houston fan (but a unfortunately 2012er :) )these player only fans don't make any sense to me. It's just a weird mentality.

No harm in trying to create awareness. It's an issue that clearly needs to be addressed. Will it work? Maybe. Maybe not. But it won't stop me from trying to help contain/fix it. There's no way to totally eliminate trolls/hater posts on forums but we just have to try and lessen those excessive and tasteless threads that attract them.

Sounds easy enough, but that could be a very slippery slope.

I hear ya, but just saying from my experience on other "good" nba boards. That's what happens all the times. I guess banning is not that common but threads locking and warnings are very common and I think would help with this situation here.

It's really sweet what the OP is trying to do here. Create a kumbaya moment. But he is blind to the reality. There will always be 1 player fans. Some of those fans become real Rockets fans. Some quit when that player leaves the team.

Most of us do not have a problem with that. But there clearly are some Asian haters on here. They hated on Yao and now Jeremy. Don't understand why it's allowed at all.

I don't get why it's allowed. A day after everyone is so sensitive about gays in the league and a thread joking about it gets shut down immediately. To me this is a much bigger issue. People are more sympathetic to gays than asians. That's kind of funny to me, especially since no one knows about it until COllins announces it to the world and now the world is all kumbaya about it.

Lin can't hide he's asian. Yet he is very humble and hard working. He clearly has helped this team win yet the haters live to hate. If harden stinks up the floor like he did last night it turns into Lin sucks more. If beverly plays well it turns into Lin sucks. If the team loses it's Lins fault.

So what if beverly is playing better. It doesn't mean Lin hasn't been good. Yes some of the Lin fans are a little blind to Lin's fault and want to blame it on the coach or someone else. But mostly it has been the Asian haters that are the worst.

There should be zero tolerance for haters on here. Yes I understand Clutch has voiced what is not acceptable but it should be inforced more quickly. You can't say taking to the hole and Jason Collins in the same sentence before the thread is closed yet you can hate on Asians like it's okay. Not blaming the moderators just wish we could get some of these stupid posters off of here on both sides.

He did and has been awful the past few games and clearly on a major shooting slump that started as early as the latter part of the regular season but that's what threads like "Game Threads" are for. People can vent all their frustrations and personal observations in there instead of trashing garm by creating multiple inappropriate knee-jerk threads about it while disrespecting the players and cf members along the way.

I want to say that I admire how passionate some of the LOFs are in particular. You can tell they really care about him a lot. The problem is that this is a Houston Rockets site. It's not a Jeremy Lin Site. So anything that benefits the Rockets as a whole or thought to be able to benefit the team, will be disscussed. This includes trade scenarios for Jeremy Lin and pretty any player not named Harden, frankly because of Hardens contract.

The one thing that seems to be not understood whether it's good or bad is that we have always had Knee Jerk threads. Atleast since I discoverd Cluctfans in 2002. And especially after a loss there are tons of Knee Jerk threads. So now that Lin is here, this whole new group of fans don't understand that he will be scrutinized harshly after every loss. This is definetly not the place to be if you are sensitive over one particular player. So combine Knee Jerk threads with passionate Lin fans who love him so much that he can do no wrong and it's basically chaos sometimes.

Trying to communicate in a politically correct manner and politely requesting for certain things that needs to be addressed and changed doesn't mean i'm "blinded" to the actual facts. Oh i am well aware of the reality alright and who isn't, really? It could certainly end up being a desperate plea that would eventually end in vain but hey, at least i acted and tried to do as much as i can regarding it.

I dread logging onto Clutchfans now because of all the knee-jerk threads and the criticism of the team.

It's a young team. I don't know why people on here act like we're supposed to be on the same level as the Heat this season. Stop freaking out Clutchfans!!!! Bump

I clapped after most of these posts. I have started coming here less frequently due to having to sift through XOF threads. I care about the Rockets and people's thoughts on said Rockets. The individual agendas to speak of only one player and have single minded opinions on one player just make it unbearable sometimes.

I agree with both what the OP said and what Old Man Rock said.

At the end of the day, to me, this is Clutch's site. Which means we should respect him, and we should respect the way he runs the site. Even if we don't agree with every single aspect of how he does it every second of every day.

It's his site, he gets to run it how he wants. That's the way I look at it, anyways.

Are there people who came here just to root for Lin? Of course. It's like LeBron fans that followed him to Miami from Cleveland.

Are there people here who seem to have an agenda to rip on Lin no matter what? Yep.

As Old Man Rock said, there seem to be echoes of what Yao went through and what Lin is going through. If that is the case, it is unfortunate.

Lin is a mentally strong guy. So was Yao. They rose above the noise and nonsense and did their thing.

I think the more posters than can do the same, the better.
