Obama does not have any "muslim roots" whatsoever. Please stop perpetuating this lie.

Sorry, posted back without reading the name on the post.

Any Flying Spaghetti Monster reference is a good one, isn't it?

didn't his father convert to islam in his younger days? didn't barack go to christian and muslim schools when he was a child? i don't know many christian americans who went to muslim schools. i know barack isn't a muslim. i also know his father isn't a muslim anymore. but how can you say it is a lie that he doesn't have any muslim roots? he does have now distant ties to islam unlike most white christian americans.

I think it's a non issue. If there truly were some kind of direct order given exclusionary of Muslims, I would find that completely reasonable given the unfortunate social/political circumstances of the day.

However, your defense of Obama in this thread is pretty damn amusing. Two separate volunteers in two separate instances had the same response and you refuse to admit even a possibility of some kind of correlation? LOL. You can almost cut through the irony from the left with a butter knife these days.

Obama is very much a politician. What makes him different is that he's really good at it, cares about it, and works hard at it. And he doesn't try to be all things to all people... otherwise, we wouldn't have so much squeeling coming from those currently in power.

For us Dems at least, he's refreshing, not messianic.

Is anybody else a little uncomfortable with the abjunct denial by the Obama supporters of all things Muslim? His father was Muslim, and he lived in Indonesia --a Muslim country when he was a child. So he does have some connections to Islam. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it's like Islam is the new communism, and his campaign is hellbent on driving home that he is not now, nor ever has been, or been associated with Muslims. Crazy. What's the big frikken deal?

I accept that he's a practicing Christian (whatever that means), and that much of this might be driven by the looney *right* but....damn....by the strength of the denials I get the impression sometimes that they are saying that Islam is something to be ashamed of.

the big freakin deal is the prejudice in this country, and I would have a problem with it except he's trying to win an election. when he gets there he can mend bridges but he has to get there first.

Another example of Obama's message of being the great uniter and bringing change being nothing but a lie..

You know damn well those volunteers were instructed to screen the people seen behind Obama.

So prejudice shown by the Obama campaign is ok if it's for a worthy cause. So when he gets to the white house, he can say "my bad" and move on?

    LOL, you are losing it.

I'm so tired of this, he is trying to unite washington, not people who are never going to vote for him in the first place because of they are left with nothing but these "issues"

More importantly, the women in the Wayne State photo appear to have the same body type. (vague Seinfeld reference)

    Who said this???

"Working together we can move beyond some of our old racial wounds,"

And the next thing you know his campaign is screening out people who look like they might be Muslims. I guess people from the Middle East don't have any racial wounds that need healing. I guess the key word was "some".

Stop while you are wayyyyyy behind.

Nice job of completely ignoring me exposing your belief that prejudice is ok if it gets you elected....

again, its the prejudice in this race that has caused this reaction from his volunteers

what does islam have to do with race>

Well..they didn't pick them out because they were toting the Koran...

That's the dumbest thing you have said and that's saying something. I thought Obama was above dirty tactics. Thanks for finally admitting "the change" slogan was nothing but a lie to get Obama elected.

If you discriminate based on an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics, you could be defined as being prejudiced.

The group in this case are Muslims and the "uniter's" campaign discriminated on them based on characteristics that made them appear Muslim. I assumed that you had enough common sense to know that carrying a Koran (mispelled Qur'an) was one form of identifying them as Muslims and the other forms would be the language they speak, the way they dress, skin color etc.. You didn't really need that explained to you, did you?

When does anyone not being obscene, dangerous or unruly forfeit the opportunity to sit behind the candidate?

It was dirty that Obama's camp treated those people the way they did to deceive voters. He wants their vote but don't sit behind me and screw up my campaign.

For what it's worth I typed Koran and meant Qur'an. Sue me.
