The statement you quoted wasn't me saying anything. I hadn't said anything in this thread for you to quote. Might want to make sure you know who you are trying to filet.

It's called decaf. It is just as tasty as the real thing. :D

andymoon implied that the directive did not come from Obama. I merely, AS AN ASIDE, pointed out that we could not know that for sure. I was even careful to say that I was not saying that it did. We simply do not know. It was a pretty neutral statement.

Personally, and for the record, I do not give a flying damn whether it came from Obama or not. This is politics. Plain and simple. Crappy things get done all the time in the name of politics. This should not be the reason that a person does or does not get elected.

Nice Spaghetti Monster reference though. :)

With right wing shills going gonzo over scarfs worn in a dunkin donuts commercial and that infamous photo leak of Obama in traditional North African supposedly Muslim garb, yeah there's some trepidation over the appearance of videos one click away from Youtube.

I don't like the ugly head of politics, but it's a lose lose situation for Obama in this case.

Let's see the last time Obama had a Muslim/Arab related photo op, the xenophobes on the right used it to create more bs fear mongering.

Time to sit back and watch how fake the Republican outrage will be over this dastardly example of exclusion and wondering why Obama would do such a bad bad thing.

i certainly am more to the right/libertarian...more of a ron paul type. my feelings about politics have changed a lot since bush has been president. watching a complete train wreck tend to make you look at things differently. i thought he would be good at first but then things have changed for the much much worse. also, watching events unfold in the stock market everyday for the past 4 years have given me a different/more cynical perspective on how i view events and people.

further, my point about both running this country into the ground has to do with how neither are going to end up balancing the budget or fixing the broken medicare and social security programs. i know it's not mainstream to realize the impending disaster of both programs since it isn't crushing us now but i do think it is good to actually be forward thinking on these issues. i'm not talking some extreme crazy bs either. if you don't believe me then read fed president richard fisher....http://dallasfed.org/news/speeches/fisher/2008/fs080528.cfm he explains things pretty well.

    ok enough off topic stuff.

You will find a lot of democrats agreeing with you robbie. But I obviously think we might nave a fighting chance with Barack in office. The future isn't hopeless.

Just more typical Obama hypocrisy right here, folks.

Who here was gullible to think that this is some type of 'new politics'? Please. Read one of his speeches -- same old partisan rancor. And now add racist to the mix.

what's funny here is if they were allowed to be in the photo - it would have been used to smear obama as being a Muslim or something like that.

So sickening how Republicans are using the media to twist people's minds.

I think Mccains aides must be doing this too... they seem more hardcore though.. looks like they are barring muslims, blacks, asians, AND hispanics from being in Mccain photos

read that link if you get a chance. it isn't a short read but very poignant.

i am not a pessimistic person by any means but i am a realist. the reality of things is that this country has some significant fundamental problems that it must face over the next 10-15 years. things will come to a breaking point with the passing of the baby boomers and the strain put on our economy due to the demographic shifts in our population. if one of the two candidates convinces me that they have a plan to fix the major economic problems america will face then i will definitely listen. the problem is that they haven't and neither party has.

wow...i just found a great website. www.perotcharts.com ...yes that perot :D

    http://perotcharts.com/challenges/

i think i will start a new thread about this or bump my old one.

Yes...I know. Obama will end poverty, find a cure for cancer, make the blind see...and to top it all off...walk on water.

Just remember, anybody who tries to be all things to all people is usually completely full of crap. In other words...they are a politician. Obama is no different.

It's really weird how some of you guys keep saying he's not the Messiah. Who said he was?

No, he won't walk on water. All he'll do is roll back all of Bush's disastrous policies (on Iraq, the economy, the environment, education, trade, energy, torture, habeas corpus, illegal spying on Americans, stem cell research, abortion rights and on and on and on and on and on) while McCain would continue them.

In other words, he wouldn't BE the Messiah; he would only seem like it by comparison.

The long national nightmare is almost over. Hallelujah.*

    * The word "Hallelujah" is not intended to suggest religious worship of Obama. It is only intended to suggest appreciation that the bleeding caused by the horrible damage of the Bush administration will soon be stopped. In some cases, we can hope, it might even be reversed. At least a little. Hallelujah.
