29 people killed for (as far as I can tell) peaceful protests. Alleged government bribes. Saddam would be proud.

I fear all the work and money that the US has put into Iraq will be gone in roughly 5-10 years.

Is a dictatorship the only form of government that works in this country in the foreseeable future? ("Works" in terms of providing some sort of stability...do people prefer repression+stability to "freedom", but random violence and chaos?)

Why should we care? That's a more important question.

No, the point here is that this forced and biased "democracy" is just as bad as a dictatorship. But with more legitimacy, which is sad.

Some aspects of American "foreign policy" never change. Start a war, kill a lot of innocents, bring in the corporate overlords, make some folks more wealthy...

Rinse. Repeat. Republican. Democrat. On and on.

    (more at the link, obviously)

All in the name of greed. I detest this.

I'd like to think it's less evil than that, that amidst all the wolves there is some semblance of something positive going on .... a plan for some sort of positivity and prosperity (regardless if it eventually fails miserably)... I'd like to.

You know what the worst part is? The "other" side can only 99% prevent an U.S. invasion by equipping themselves with a nuclear weapon (i.e. Iran & North Korea).

    Mathloom, Matty, Matthias.

Don't think your expected hiatus after being called out in the last Islamic thread you made has made everyone forget the shamockery you are. Trolling honest, hardworking Americans into thinking you're not a real muslim without biases and vitriol/hatred towards the West. Contradiction after contradiction. I and my fellow Americans will not rest until justice is brought to the forefront. That is what this country, America, was built on and that is what this country stands for. Democracy is a beautiful thing and it will prevail in Iraq. A few suicide bombings and Iraqi on Iraqi crime don't mean a damn thing when you can't even muster the backbone to tell people who you really are and what you really stand for.

What kind of a woman are you.

Problem is the plans turn to doo doo after the puppet governemnts are put in place. The natural course for an impovershed nation is to turn to corruption. Which time afte time has proven itself to be true. Unfortunately, the US ends up having to take out the regime it puts in place after those in power get a taste and start standing up to the US. Central America from the 50's through the 90's is good example. The CIA ran the region.

America, and its foreign policy, are run by the wealthy.

Words like "morality" and "democracy" and "tyranny" and "freedom" and "rights" don't mean a ******* thing to the wealthy. They only matter to us schlubs down here, and we are either too lazy to rebel or to stupid to realize we're being **** on.

    You must spread reputation around...

We need some strong man, idk - maybe like Saddam Hussein to handle the tribal/religious nuttery going on over there.

Well, I tempered my statement with caution and doubt, yet still I send apologies to those that are bothered by my choice to believe all is not lost, and that there is still some character here.

Did anyone expect anything different? Democracy was forced upon them when they had no history of democracy.

No apology needed for my part. I'm only bothered by the reality of the "policy", the tragedy it forces upon so many for no other reason than our national culture of capitalist expansion... For some reason, reading this sort of stuff always affects me in a very fundamental and sincere way. All this death and destruction and imperialist subjugation...for what? And am I a part of it simply because of my birthplace? Am I...responsible?
