I think you are right we may lose more games but CP3/Jahill/Reddick/ all come off the books and FA like Lebron Paul George and Carmelo become available. It's a move for next season and with Jahill at power forward or even center we actually have a low post option who can score on his own with out the pick and roll
I agree that's why I want to make this trade... we must move Anderson even at the expense of Gordon to have a shot at a 3rd star or even better role players
It not about stats it's about dumping salary and not losing so much as a result. Reddick is just as good a shooter as Gordon and Jahill is a way better low post threat then Anderson but that is not the point. The point is the Cap flexibility at the end of the season. CP3, Capela, Reddick, Ariza and Okafor will all be free agents.CP3 "if" he comes back is a world class recruiter and I believe he will take less money to win. Lebron, Paul George, DeMarcus and Melo will all be free agents.
Ideally for this season we win a Championship but I think best case scenario we make it to the conference finals. At the end of the season if we make trade... we re-sign CP3 and Ariza (even if we can't keep Ariza we keep Tucker/LMM to cap friendly deals and go all in for Demarcus Cousins and Paul George. Cousins Ariza or Tucker/LMM George Harden CP3 This team wins at least 2 championships
What is obvious is that many devalue gordon on his importnce to a team. Too fixated on getting a star name and a shooter as if its enough to match gordons loss. But in our system, gordon is as important as harden and paul. bringing in named players through cap flexibility is an unknown, what we have now we already know can compete and contend. This core can win, and winning is the best recruiter.
You are throwing away a season where we have two legit top 10 players and the deepest team we have had since..... I really cannot even remember.... to try to have a chance to maybe have a chance to maybe be able to talk to Lebron or Paul George or Carmelo? Maybe? In all the years of watching the Rockets... how has us going star chasing in free agency worked out for us? Ever?
