when they moved the wheel the first time...and then the time after that....and then sometime in the 70's to watch some of them encounter the rest who stayed behind....and then forward again to meet desmond...and then back again to see the statutes get built...and then forward to figure out if the creators put possible scenarios up on a dart board and randomly threw at them. would love to go back and watch the 1919 world series...to witness that to watch willie play in the polo grounds to see babe call his shot against the cubbies to see jackie take the field that VERY first time...wow
there are some great answers in here... the wheel is one i hadn't considered. the reason i brought this up is because i saw a show on PBS last night about the jonestown cult (which was a few yrs before my time) and wondered what the average american person thought about it at the time... the number of civilian americans that died that day, only surpassed by 9/11, is staggering. there are so many other obvious concerts, sports, and political events that we are left with just reading about or seeing clips of that doesn't quite capture the entire feel of when it occurs. for me, i'm glad i've been around to witness the berlin wall come down, advent of the internet, and unfortunately to have been around for waco, OKC bombing, and of course 9/11.
If I couldn't go back as far as the creation of everything, I'd at least like to see how Stonehenge was built.
I would go back to 2002. If you recall, the seminal event of 2002 was the press conference for the Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson fight. If you remember correctly a fight breaks out when Tyson walks across stage toward Lennox and is manhandled by Lennox's people. During the melee this cowardly reporter yells "Put him in a straitjacket!" This is in reference to what the reporter conceives as an out of control Mike Tyson. If I was there, I would have yelled back to the cowardly reporter- "How about I put YOU in a straitjacket?" These words and I alone would have restored Tyson's honor since no one came to his defence that sad day.
Mostly musical: Woodstock, Monterrey Pop Festival, and any performance of Zeppelin, Hendrix, SRV, Mozart, Beethoven, etc. I'd love to see historical events like battles from the Revolution and Texas independence.
Nothing ambitious off the top of my head...I'd like to be there for the early Detroit techno, Chicago house, and/or London drum & bass days though.
Well, going to ignore the moneymaking opportunities since that kind defeats the purpose See the Netherlands play in the 1974 World Cup Joan of Arc in battle (did she really fight!?) As someone else said, when Wheel was first used Watch some dinosaurs in action would be cool too
