I was talking about Leinart for the most part. You want to know what's stupid, mentioning Jay Barker with Montana, Elway, ect.........That defines stupidity
Really, did he.........thanks a lot dude for the insight. Henne is only a sophomore QB (just because he had an amazing frshaman season doesn't change that) . Plus, teams had more time to adjust to his game and get reads on him they didn't have last season. I never cried about Hart being absent, I just stated he had been hurt all season. Yes, he is only a sophomore as well. The other people involved in this perticular conversation understood, unfortunately you're an idiot.
You've lost me. I thought the argument we were making was regarding the significance of ND's win over Michigan. Well, Chris Hart was hurt and he was limited to 3 attempts and 4 yards, so he really wasn't much of a factor. Therefore, it was a narrow victory for ND over a crippled opponent. Not saying Michigan is a bad team, but ND did not beat a good team on that day.
I went to UT and I think you UT haters need to get a life. Before this season I thought there was no way VY could be a NFL QB and that he would be the next Matt Jones but obviously he has made dramatic improvements this year and now the NFL scouts believe he could be the next Michael Vick. A great running QB who can develop enough of a passing game to make it in the NFL. VY was nominated for two awards this year not to mention the Heisman: The Maxwell Award is given to the most outstanding player in college football. The following candidates led their respective teams through their astonishing play on the field and their leadership. Reggie Bush, USC, Matt Leinart, USC, Vince Young, Texas. The Davey O'Brien Award is named after the All-American football player at Texas Christian University who was named to thirteen All-American teams and became the only college football player to win the Heisman, Maxwell, and Walter Camp trophies in the same year. Matt Leinart, USC, Brady Quinn, Notre Dame, Vince Young, Texas. How is he not in the conversation with Leinhart when they are nominated for the same awards.
I was talking to halfbreed, not you. We are cool, you actually had a argument that was thought oout. Halfbreed is exactly what his name says.
You lost me as soon as I heard Young compared to Vick. Vick can thow a ball 70 yards with the flick of a wrist and runs a sub 4.3 40. If Young tried to throw a ball 70 yards it would get shot down by a deer hunter. I'm not a UT hater either, I just don't occupy space on Young's jock like you do.
Name calling...great!!! I could understand this one if my username was halfwit or halfbrain...but here it's just out of place. Nice try at a second insult though!
True arm strength is measured by deep post and deep cross patterns (not 70 yard bombs) where the QB needs to zip the ball a long way before the defense can adjust. UT's offense doesn't run those patterns because they don't need to and the receivers doesn't get enough separation for those passes to be complete. Also, while Vick may have superior quickness, VY is very tough to bring down. VY is more of a cross between Vick and Culpepper as a runner. I have seen VY throw some high heat and I would have to say that his arm is as strong as I have seen in college football. Those throws just don't happen very often. I'm not saying that VY is as good as Michael Vick, but I think he is on track to become as good as Vick if he stays for his senior year.
You initiated it and I followed it up. I haven't gotten hostile with anyone except you. I wasn't really trying to insult you either, halfbreed is not exactly a name that becomes someone.
I have not insulted you on this whole thread nor have I called anyone names. You have done so repeatedly. It's one thing to disagree with someone and quite another to call names.
Two completely different players. Vick has an absolute cannon for an arm, there's no comparison there. Vick is also much faster and much quicker then young. Now, Young has some arm strength but it's not consitant. He can get heat on the ball occassionally but typically when he tires to make a play that requires he zip a ball in there it's a poor pass. Often his deep passes are wobbly as well. He definitely runs like Culpepper but he's faster then Daunte is. He also covers a lot more ground when he scrambles with less effort. That's way too tough a comparison. Like i said, they don't play alike (except they can both scramble) and Vick is already a winner in the NFL. He's a perfect example of the numbers not telling the entire story.
Not true. I haven't done so repeatedly, only with you. The only other time it was even close was between pgabriel and myself in which we both called arguments stupid, and then ended up agreeing at the end.
Agreed, definitely different players. However, I wouldn't call Vick a winner in the NFL yet. That offense need to get him a go-to receiver in order to give him a chance.
So Vick can throw the ball 70 yards w/ a flick of the wrist, I saw John Elway throw a vortex over a 100 yards. You should ask how many times Vick has had to throw the ball 70 yards during his career. The truth is that VY is completing 63.5% of his passes while Vick completed 59% during the Junior seasons. Let's not forget that all the things said about Young today are very similar to the things said about Vick. They're unbelievable athletes that don't have the greatest passing ability like the more traditional QBs do, but they can be just about the most dangerous player on the field. I'm not saying Vince is Vick or anything like that, but if there is one player right now that CAN be the next great dual-threat QB, it is Vince. He's improved his passing every single year so what's to say he can't get that much better.
He's won playoff games without any semblence of a receiving core. I'm not one of the Vick bashers, I accept the guy for what he is.
But you fail to justify why you call names. You brought up the fact that Hart was out to justify why the UM team lost games. I simply pointed out that this UM team was not a good team even with Hart. If you're relying on a sophomore RB why can you not rely on a sophomore QB? I was simply saying that you cannot have it both ways. Either you can rely on a sophomore or you can't. Where in the entire argument did I insult you?
You said I was crying about Hart's injury and were completely condescending to me in the entire Michigan post you made.
